To make up for the last two fiasco (more details later), I decided to prepare a little Christmas present. It still has the debug output enabled, but I've spent quite some time cleaning up the main loop, so it's probably as fast as it gets. The MorphOS executable:
    http://bszili.morphos.me/ports/frogatto-mos.lha

The cheapskates can download the game data for free from github:
    https://github.com/frogatto/frogatto/archive/1.3.1.zip
This includes a lots of non-Frogatto related stuff, so it's much larger than the stock game (about 500 MB).

If you want to support the developers, you can buy the game here for ten bucks:

If you want to support me, I have a begging segment on my homepage... :-)

I recompiled the executable with more optimization flags enabled, it should have sligtly better performance now. I added a FULLSCREEN tooltype too, so you don't have to press CTRL+F each time you run the game.

Frogatto has no built-in language selection, but it autodetects the system locale on Windows an unices. I'll investigate the issue.

I don't know which config file did you edit, but as I said you can't set the locale from the game. It's autodetected at startup and not stored anywhere, so you have to wait for my fix.

It was a combination of two problems (no LANG env var on MorphOS, endianness issues). It's probably working now, but oddly I can't run the game anymore. I get crashes in tinygl.library when the OpenGL extension string is queried (access to deadbeef). I'm not sure what did I change that broke the game this bad, but I can't release it this way.

edit: As a stopgap solution I reverted to using the "Language" env var now, which means that the first of your preferred system languages will be used by Frogatto.

Ah, Frogratto, I remember this game several years ago when the project started and everyone likened it with Superfrog. Back then when I tried it it was an alpha/unfinished version with only a small portion of the levels finished.

The game was brought up to my radars after the AmigaOS port but my Sam was/is so underpowered that it couldn't run it decently.

Afterwards I decided to install it on my Win/PC but I faced a huge problem with language detection with Frogatto (which reminds me BSzili's saga mentioned above): The game was insisting using mixed up Greek fonts even though my system is setup as English/American. The result was to produce/use some hieroglyphic utterly incomprehensibly characters in the game's dialogs ultimately resulting into not being able to understand what I was supposed to do next :(

I was hoping for a MorphOS version! Hope everything runs fine this time :) Will try it asap today evening, after work. Many thanks for all of your efforts, keeping us busy with new games! :)

I hope you can solve the language problem (Swedish translation is unfinished and that is annoying). Another great port! :-D

I won't finish the Swedish translation, if that's what you are referring to :-P

    @BSzili

Ha ha! No no, I'm not that demanding :-)
I meant being able to choose language would be nice,

The screen flickers on my G5 with radeon 9600XT 128 MB VRAM when I move from side to side. Is this a known problem?

I'll add some tooltype which can override the automatic language detection. They really should add a language selection screen already...
