When I run VICE 2.2 on my G5, gfx are smooth, some sounds are smooth, but in general, the sound is choppy. Anyone experience this ?

Yea. I also have the same experience, but even in my Mac Mini or MDD.

    I'll try that out. Thanks!

EDIT: that didnt fix it. Another thing is that the screen looks strange...not as sharp.

    Hi all!
To listen smooth sounds & music with Vice 2.2/2.4 go to Settings/Sound settings and select "Large" in Fragment size options menu.

Jambalah: that worked! Thanks! How about the non sharp screen in 2.4?

EDIT: what I mean by "blurry", it looks like double scan isnt enabled.

Here the screen is sharp. When double scan isn't enabled you should see a display full of lines.
You can check if double scan is enabled in Options menu. Take a look to Overlay option too: if is enabled try without because it makes display a little blurry. Another think to check is inside Settings/VIC II video settings/Render filter settings where you can activate two filters: CRT emulation (remember that nice old monitor scanline effect? A pleasure for the eyes... :-) ) or Scale 2x (wich makes everything blurred-like). Select "None" if one of those two is activated. Inside Settings there is VIC-II settings too but non needs to modify it (unless you want to try and see how it looks like). Tips: if you try to modify something like Double Size (inside Options menu) do that without the Fullscreen options activated since program often crashes. When you go from a double size screen to a normal screen and vice versa you will notice that display won't be refreshed. So do a soft/hard reset or go fullscreen and come back.
