    Hi,

Can anyone suggest a good MOS coder I can pay to port games and other programmes?

I'm far from good, but which games would you like to see on MorphOS? Perhaps I can port some of them.

Quake4 isn't possible, because only the game logic is open source, and it's released under a restrictive EULA. Basically you can only use the compiled game DLLs with the original executables. It's a shame because it's possible to get to work with the GPL-ed Doom3 engine apart from a few featues, like portal skyboxes.

Stuff that will use the features of the R300 like fragment programmes etc...

Will you be able to do that once the R300 driver is out?
    Are the assets free too?

I don't know when the R300 driver will be out, so I can't answer that :-) First I have to investigate if the game would run at a playable speed on a powerbook. The rendering is quite CPU-heavy, especially the shadows. Which model do you have exactly?

That should be just enough to run the game at a decent speed. Currently the state of the r300 driver wouldn't affect me, because I'd do the initial work on my Mac Mini. There's an r200 optimized shader backend in the renderer, so I might be able to playtest the game in a very small window :-D As for the money, I really don't know. Whatever amount you feel right. We can get back to it after I managed to produce a working test version.

Is the Q4 code out because, if we`re having to buy assets, Quake 4 is a better game than Doom3.

    Forget that then.

I emailed the makers of VGP3 to see how much they want for a MOS port.

What about something like Nexuiz ?

Fully open source far as I know, and it's a quite exciting game.
Amiga 1200 and G4 MDD MOS as my main computers.
