I just bought WipeOut 2097 on ebay. Very nice game!

    I have a problem thou:

The CD music wont play in the game. I have selected CD music in the menu, cdplayer.library is in libs and I can easily play the music on CD Player (AmigaZeus). Does anybody have some good advice?

My CD is on IDE device 2 (HD on primary).

I am running the game in 1024x768 all details selected etc. to get the speed down. Does anybody else have the problem, that the loading screens are corrupted and it wont play the intro?

Wipeout is a great game, but it has these issues because it was kind of 'hard coded' to play on the then-cutting edge (for Amigas) B/CVPPC cards, which have different video modes than what we have now. I recall there being a similar situation for the CD sound, it's not done in an entirely system friendly way. There was a thread on this a couple years ago, when I among others got it running on MorphOS and it comes down to the original developer of the port being very anti-MorphOS.

The problems it has could be fixed, but sadly they won't be :-( That's too bad because it is a really awesome game, even if it is unplayably fast on our Pegasi ;-)

    Hi,

Concerning the speed, you have to fiddle a little bit with the "Speed Limit" setting in the WO starter.

Here (PegII G4; Radeon 9200 1280x1024x24) I set it to 30 FPS wich is about realtime - meaning 1 second in the game is about 1 second in realtime.

BTW: As my machine crashes when playing the anims (was the same on my A4000 with Voodoo back then), I just renamed the moviefiles in the MPEG directory.
I'm getting an error requester that WO can't find the movie, but at least it doesn't crash and I can continue with the game.
