quake 2 settings

I've installed the Hyperion port of Quake 2, however I'm only able to play it if I select a 640x480 screen-mode or less (in the QuakeIIGui). 800x600 or 1024x768 produce a blinking gray screen. :-(

Any tips on how to set things up properly in order to be able to play, let's say through 1024x768 resolution? My GFX card is Radeon7500 32MB of ram, and of course I've got 1.4.5 MOS installed and the 3D drivers package. Pegasos II, G4, 512MB ram.

    Thanks.

I had some problems getting it to work myself. I ended up just using one from Bigfoot and setting it all up myself. I would recomend just building the binary from the sources yourself and getting a PC version for the game files.

Oh and most of Hyperions games are a total mess, plenty of the things they have are MOS native from other sources if you search for them. Here are a few versions you can try.

I use here both Ports the one from Hyperion and the MOS Nativ. The native one runs better and faster. I don't know if it's allowed, but i could upload it here to MorphZone.

Well, it's GPL, so as long as you are able to supply the sources for the port it should be ok.

I know, but if you're distributing the binaries, you are also responsible for supplying the sources upon request.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

It would be cool if ThePlayer could provide us with the MOS native version of Q2.

The sources were on bigfoot's server for a while there iirc. His port is miles better than the hyperion one
