MAME 0.148 and tinygl

    Hi all

    I have a problem with MAME 0.148.MAME is with an 6000 roms installed.The problem happened even before I've installed tinygl yesterday and is that when I try to load and play sone roms it has some video intiialization error.So no video initialitation at all.

    As I am not an average or expert Morphos user at all:

    Why this happens? Is there any trick that I can play MAME roms at all under Morphos 3.18?

    I am a Morphos registered user registered between 3-5 of August 2023.

    Any ideas are welcome

    EDIT:Is there a better version of MAME avaliable? Where is if avaliable?

    What is your version of MorphOS?
    What is your hardware and graphics card please?

    I just test on my machine (PMac G5 2.7 with X800) and all working here with MAME 0.148

    It's last version...
    I port FinalBurn Neo (somthing similar)
    IMac G5 2.1,PowerBook G4 1.5,MacMini 1.5, PowerMac G5 2.7 died !!!

    Morphos 3.18

    AmigaOne X5000

    ATI Radeon HD 5450

    Hope this helps

    Is there another working version of MAME?

    MAME doesn't use TinyGL.

    MorphOS can't do overlay with this card. Try with overlay disabled.

    Maybe because of overlay. See comments #5 and #8.

    Try add to your config file:
    -nouse_overlays

    and to vector.ini file:
    effect none

    and look to the /doc/config.txt from MAME folder

    I tried but at the moment I musn't do because on Ambient on the right-click menu it musn't show any text editor.And on DirOpus I musn't do it too because sometimes it doesn't work.I have a failure related with the command DopusRT file and is frequent when I try to extract some files.

    What do you think?

    OK I checked but I cannot download at all

    And the DirOpus problem of DOpusRT erriors is very important cause I need to extract files and do more things without issues.

    And about Morphos MAME I want to ask: Is there a newer or better MAME version than this MAME 0.148?

    No video inicializiaton is the last message I remember

    If you have overlay already disabled and your problem persists, then I'm out of ideas. Sorry.

    I have FinalBurn Beta on AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition Update 2.Great emulator.
