I've been using 3.6 now for a while, but just updated to 3.9. Now a few of my mame titles do not work. They load, but the graphiics are slanted, diagonally, and unplayable, any clues how to fix or address (Fab?) I'm on macmini 1.5. Some of the titles are X-men capcom bowling, and tecmo bowl. I tried 0.121 and 0.148. they both have the same issue leading me to believe its an update issue.

I had the same behaviour using both MAME 0.148 and 0.120. The only way to see something is to switch off FullScreen and Overlays options with those games. I tried other games (The Punishers, Tumble Pop, World Court f.e.) and all is ok.

I see, I may give that a go then, but I hope there is a fix.

    Thanks

So that's not gonna work for me with the small screen. I hope we can get a script please, or something. The use of MAME is one of the main reasons I even morph up. It's good family fun time playing retro games.

You could also try to disable the AGP overlay enhancements in the Radeon driver via tooltype "AGPOVL_DISABLE=YES".
You need to reboot to make the change come into effect.

    Pega-1
I'd like to try that, give me the details. Do I go to MyMorphOS:utilities/GraphicBoards and highlite info and add command there?

Radeon drivers are in MOSSYS:Devs/Monitors but I activated the tooltype with no success...

Yes the same problem still exists for some of the titles, but the funny thing is that Tecmo Bowl now works. Think this is something that we can fix eventually?
    Thanks!

Well, I tried to exclude overlay inside MAME settings without the above mentioned tooltype active (after a reboot) and the games that didn't work properly now are running flawless provided that you use screenmode requester option . Settings are per game (not a global setting) so it's possible to activate/deactivate this switch for a single game or more. The strange thing is that I did it before and it didn't work....

I did try dropping the overlay and select the screen, but that's a lot of options to figure out. But its the only usuable option for now I guess. So do I delete the script, or just leave it with no instead of yes in case it becomes useful later, and change the overlay setting in mame, then reboot.

    Hello Developers, and users,

Has any attention been given to the Mame display problems? Using it without overlay makes the graphics blotchy, any not in its preferred viewing aspects. If overlay is used, then not all game titles will load correctly with viewable graphics.

Hopefully, one of you can have a good look at this issue and create a viable solution which will make the program more playable. In its current state, it isn't usuable much.

    Thanks!

I know what's causing it: stride parameter isn't properly set for overlay display. It's easy to fix.

I could do it for Mame 0.148 or so (assuming i can still build it, it takes hours to link). What bothers me is that i lost my MorphOS sources for 0.120/0.121 (i only found 0.113).
