    @Daytona/Daniel,

    PM replied to, thanks.

    @BSzili,

    I am burning that coal right now to warm up the house, so thanks to Krampus for the fuel ;-)

    Merry Christmas to all, and may 2016 be the best year ever for all of you.

    Pardon, what do you mean with "and the MorphOS version"?

    Now only I can to play the game under MorphOS, not under AmigaOS4.

    Hm, sorry, I still don't get you.
    The game is being developed for MorphOS, AOS4 and AROS x86.

    To those who don't follow the development diary too often:
    it's model-conversion and -optimization time :-P
    I just put some new screenshots online, more to come for each new model. First I'm going to finish up the conversion tool though. Today I'll add an automatic optimize-model-for-iso-view command :-)

    Seems to be a lot of work! Will there be another playable demo before release?

    I just added a pretty detailed photo-session illustrating the model conversion process.
    For more information also check out the diary's entries since yesterday :-P

    Cheers,

    @Daytona675x:
    Read through your developer diary. Seems you are redesining the game to some extent because of bugs and suboptimal code?

    @ernsteiswuerfel

    No, I'm not changing the game's design (even if I wanted to (which I don't), I couldn't, simply because I'm a programmer and no artist ;) )

    However I'm fixing bugs - or better said: I don't clone them when I see them.
    Regarding "suboptimal code":

    The Amiga version is written from scratch (which also explains the "don't clone"-statement above).
    There is no code to port directly. The original code is Unity3D scripts which can neither be used nor being compared directly. The game is "ported" by writing a new game that looks and acts practically identical and which uses the same assets.

    When I say that some technique was sub-optimal then I mean: it would be suboptimal when done in the same or in a similar way on the Amiga. On the PC it just works even if not being optimized (but then again: when something runs fast enough, why optimize?)

    For example, to get (almost) the same visual output of a strafing-level at decent speed on a mid-range NG-Amiga system I a) have to do some tricky optimizations to the 3D models before, b) cannot pretend to be on a PC and just render everything in a straight-forward but unoptimized way (which you can do on current PCs, which is why you cannot blame the Unity or original Wings coders), c) have to even take care of things like CPU caches (you won't believe what kind of difference that can make) and general efficiency of transformation / lighting computation to make it run well everywhere.
