I've got an Xbox 360 controller and a PS3 controller, both connected via USB and neither seem to work. Unlike the Xbox controller the PS3 controller is recognised in Trident as running but when ticking 'Track Incoming Events' no incoming events are triggered, nor does either controller work in games.
I also have a Futuretronics USB Strikepad which is recognised as running and I can track incoming events on, however the direction pad is all messed up and not working correctly, some keypresses on the direction pad are not tracking at all depending on the combination the direction keys are pressed in.
So my question is, what gamepads are guranteed to just plug/play and work?
Once I know what works I'll go pick one up tomorrow.
The xbox 360 Controller is bond via usb class to sensors.library and not via HID, so it will not dump any incoming data in usb prefs, it just works.
The PS3 game pad requires a start command to respond, so it does not work by default. Chances are high it gets supported later via sensors, too.
I used PS2 Controllers with HID interfaces as well as Wii Kontrollers with HID interface and they all work out of the box. The PS2 ones even support rumble like the Xbox one.
