I'd guess that most MorphOS (and Amiga) users, who like 3D games already own some new 3D game console...

But in any case, would be nice to see such port... But I still prefer 2D :-)

(Of course there are quality 2D games for PS2, such as Bust-a-Move and GGX, I own them both :-) )

PS2 has some very good games but once you realize that the 3D engine is the same with every game and it is very hard to play 3D games with the PS2 analog controller (definately a mouse is needed), you turn to good old soccer games instead. I had bought a PS2 just to play Winning Eleven (Pro Evolution Soccer).

Anyway, such an emulator could be VERY VERY slow.

Play Chaos Legion on a PC and a Playstation2, and you will experience that the PS2 version with the PS2 joypad is an overkill compared to the limited and annoying controls on the PC. A PS2 joypad can outperform a mouse and keyboard, it's just a matter of proper schemes for controls.

i tried the emulator on my pc. it wasn't fast for a few ea sports games, so i see where it would be slow on current hardware for morphos

Does frameskipping work as good on this than say, FPSE? Some games might be playable with a single digit refresh rate.

It would be interesting to revisit this in a couple months when G5 support comes out. Would a high end G5 make a PS2 emulator usable with tweaking? That would open up a huge catalog of semi-modern games for MorphOS. Heck, I can walk into my local GameStop stores and buy PS2 games for a few dollars each.
