Recently the free reverse engineered Sega's Outrun binary, has been ported to 68k Amigas but needs explicitly a Vampire accelerator (even the 060 is way too slow).
The engine is rather impressive itself and you can check it in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yVqB13EtZg&t=0s
Basically, it has been ported to 68k specifically to demonstrate the Vampire's gold kernel capabilities and you can read more about it here: http://www.apollo-core.com/knowledge.php?b=3¬e=4767
Anyhow, why spend 300+ euros just for a demo, when you can try and play it on MorphOS? ;)
The idea came to me when I checked that's P96 friendly so I thought to myself, why not give it a go? :)
Download the 68k port, from here:http://aminet.net/package/game/race/CannonBall
Download the main Outrun rev. B mame rom files from here: http://coolrom.com/roms/mame/9681/Out_Run_(sitdown*upright,_Rev_B).php
Download the extra rom rev. B files from here:https://edgeemu.net/download.php?id=18225
Unpack main archive, place all roms files under roms drawer and copy everything to your HD. Run the executable. Profit? :D
Note: I haven't found any outun rom B archive on the net which come with the complete epr set needed as described on the port's readme. Therefore, download both aforementioned archives.
USB joystick also work!
Only problem is sound (I don't get any) but I am fairly sure that's due to the alterations which have been made to the engine from the porter. Read more on the readme. If anyone can contact him, let him know about that pl :(
