i i saw somewhere a long time ago a post showing epic games and there was a sequil to 2140 shown does anyone know where that page is or when it will be released?

Hi,

unfortunately it looks as though we will have to cancel the Earth 2150 port. The code is very dependable on a special vbersion of a Windows Compiler and has some other "nice" features that do make it very unportable.
But we will release Northland for MorphOS before the year is out and we will have some other nice surprises for MOS users next year as well.

Uhm, difficult, not impossible ;)

Ah.. Do you think it would be feasible to add AHI support to Earth 2140? Would make it playable to Amithlon, Pegasos and AmigaOne users.

Of future releases.. I have couple questions..

Is there word about progress of Divine Divinity? It has ETA of Q4 2003..

Has there been any discussion on porting extension pack "THE PEASANTS REBELLION" for Morphos version of Knights & Merchants" .. I have not yet got thru K&M yet, but would like to know if there is more of it..

Hi timofonic:
Want to apply for a coding job? The port is really problematic and according to Paul, he thinks its unlikely it can be ported to a Non Windows platform (did I mention their own C Compiler?)

On to Joanas questions starting with Divine:
After a few setbacks the project is now going full steam ahead and we hope to finish the MacOS version by the end of QIV/03 and have a MorphOS version hopefully out by the end of QI/2004.

Knights&Merchants: Well, we could do the Gold Edition/TPR of K&M, but currently we hope to sell a few more copies of the original game first.;-) In the meantime, startegy players will probably love Northland even more than K&M.

no Earth 2150?! oh man i was looking forward to it so much........so it is near imposible does that mean that mabey just mabey u might still do it? and you guys are porting divine divinity what about rift runner? or when diving devinity 2 comes out? you guys are great and everyone apreceates the great games. thank you all very much

@JoannaK

Talked about that with Thomas back in Aachen, and the problem seems
to be that they don't have full access to the sources of the 2140-port.

The guy who has those sources on the other side is a FFF :eek:

FFF = Fleecy-Fluff-Fan

ps: I want my smiles BACK !!!!!

Kronos: well ... Tells a lot about community. Or what's left of it..

Anyhow.. I'll hope there will be new games and K&M will sell enough that there will be reason to port that expansion.

Hi once again,

Sorry Joana, I forgot to answer the E2140 question. Yes we do have an AHI version of Earth 2140 that does run on the Pegasos under MOS 1.4. It is however only a 68k version, so its not very fast (its fine, but once you have been used to playing it on a G4/800...). We can send it out to people who will contact me directly, but remeber, this is not an official release yet.

About 2150: Maybe we can find a coder who wants to look into it on a prvision basis, but its not a project we can prefinance any longer. If this would be the case, then yes, there will be a Mac/MOS version of all 2150 series games.

On Divine Divinity and its sequels....))

Best Regards

well i hope some noble coder steps up to the chalenge and helps with the earth 2150 port. (hint hint.) i would do it but i am not nearly as good as u are making it sould like one would need ot be. i port things that about it. but this is kinda biog and scary sounding hehe

lt56: Ok. Good to hear.

Thomas : great, thanks a lot !! Can't wait to purchase Northland & Divine...

Did anyone try the multiplayer feature of E2140 on MOS ? What to put in the BroadcastIP file ?

That was comment by Thomas Würgler posted on Jan 28, 2003 on Earth2140 support list.

So, is this AHI version newer one than the one, he talked about? Or does it just work on newer MorphOS version?

Well, E2140 worked fine on MorphOS (<1.0) on my A1200, but that was the paula version...

In any case, it would be nice to get that AHI version, as I finally have machine that should be able to run E2140 fast enough, even through emulation

I do have the AHI Version and it works with MOS 1.4 on Pegasos. No idea what this guy talking about. I think he means the original Exe without AHI Patch.

Actualy I was talking about the 68k+AHI version. From the date I believe it was MorphOS 1.3, on which we were informed it would not run at all. When MorphOS 1.4 was released, we were informed that there were still graphical problems, so because of this we have been telling people this, when we've been asked. We do not own any Pegasos-systems and are not able to test ourselves. Maybe it would be a good thing to put this "safe"/"future-proof" version online, since it seems like it'll run on everything from Amigas to Dracos, Pegasos, and PCs running Amithlon or WinUAE now.

However, that's for Thomas to decide (hi Thomas! ;))

It's only available on a need-to-know basis, I suppose
