    Hi Piru,

I suppose I should have asked what your best guess might be on it being released? I know your not the author, but I thought perhaps the author may have communicated that with you.

    Regards,

Well, I have been having the same trouble with SMBFS myself. It used to work fine on MOS1.5 but since installing MOS2 it refuses to work.

Each time I try to run SMBFS, it just crashes. I've added my WindowsXP file server to the HOSTS file in envarc:sys/net (or whatever it was) but that doesn't help.

This is the only issue preventing me (for some months now) from purchasing a full copy of MOS2 as I cant live without access to my file server.

Hope it gets sorted soon or someone can give a clear description of what needs to be done to get SMBFS working.

just an update to my above post for anyone in the future who may be experiencing similar probs. Try to increase SMBFS' stack, it worked for me. :)

Yeah, and it makes it working better even on MorphOS 1.4.5. It didn't crash without stack here either on 1.4.5, but it was still causing problems (slow uploading, occasional hangs on transfers etc). With MorphOS2.x problem just came more visible. So, in any case you should add stack for it no matter which OS you are using, as said many times here and other forums :)

Thanks again Piru for all your help in this endevour.

1.74 copies files fine to my NAS.

Unfortunately, it only deletes select files and folders and generates:
"Object not found (#205)" and "object is in use (#202)"

    I will contact the author...

Is really want to have a netwerk connection between my MorphOS-computer and my PC and IMAC.
Do I have to use Samba? Which version?
Is there a guide to install samba for mos?
Even the "samba for idiots guide" can't help me, as I don't know how to configure the built-in MOS TCP.

    HELP!!!

    Hi,

where can I found a morphos native version of smbfs?

on sourceforge there is only 68k and os4 of v1.74.

The 68k version is working here quite good with my Buffalo Linkstation, but I would prefer morphos native version, of course 8-)

There I can't find a MorphOS native version of smbfs, only smbfs v1.73 m68k version, which is not even the most recent version.
