    @Bigfoot:
Why don´t you ask the War§ow project leader (SoLoMonk)? I can give you two e-mail adresses(one this time, I must search for the other one)!

I hope you will not quit the work on the port, there are many ones waiting for it (I´m one of them)!
You do a pretty good job!

What kind of pizza do you eat? :-?

    Greetz,

Here you can write a E-mail to him:

Well, if they want my patches, than that's fine. If they don't want them, that's equally fine as well. In other words, I'm not gonna do any more about it than I have to :)

Hm, well, a deep pan pizza with tomato, cheese, ham, bacon and pepperoni would be great right now :)

I guess there'd be more than one person that would happily offer you a real pizza or two if you came to Pianeta Amiga next September. :-P
In the meantime, maybe we'll try to arrange something on the lines of the Q3 release... ;-)

I hope you will finish this port and release it (if it´s good enough, but thats your turn)! I´m sorry for the stuff I´ve said, simply ignore it! But it would be nice if you would post your current progress from time to time here.

    Thank you for your work!

Nope and nope. Personally I hate emails by proxy, and I'm sure most other people do as well. The patches were provided as "if you want them, here they are". Whether they want to use them or not makes no difference to me.

Forget the stuff I have said till now, it was stupid to think that you can make it work in a short time! I´m sorry for that and the other things I´ve said!

Porting Warsow is not rocket science. It's not anything which needs "progress reports". It's done and that's it. Takes a day.

The problem is that I have *no* mouse, *no* keyboard, *no* monitor and *no* harddisk. In other words, I haven't been able to test it much myself, and thus the polishing work has been put off till I do have a mouse, keyboard monitor and mouse for my Pegasos.

Why do you have no Harddisk, Mouse, ... this time? Too much Q3? :-D

Sorry, I had too much stress the last days, espectially today(includes a weird weekend), sorry for my little crazynes! :-P

I know that it´s working already, but I missunderstood you, I have thought that the port has currently no mouse, ... support! :-)

How could you test it whithout harddisk (was it broken after you made the port)? :-?

    And the last one:
Wich things are needed to get your port working (librarys, ..)?

Yup, that was a hard day! :pint:

    Harddisk: Because I forgot it.
Keyboard: Because the keyboard at work sucked so badly that I had to bring my own
Mouse: Because I use it on the laptop
Monitor: Because I'm on the other side of the planet, and taking a monitor with me is damn impractical

VNC sends absolute mouse coordinates where Quake and friends require relative mouse coordinates, hence mouse input doesn't work over VNC.

Netbooting. But as I said, each run of the game takes bloody ages, so it wasn't exactly all fun.

Isn't the lack of italic end underline support in ft2.library a bug?

    For example: ibrowse dosn't show
    italic text properly

It's ft2.library that can't handle different font styles.

    No, see above.

This is partially IBrowse's fault as it doesn't ask for an italic font, but instead tries to soft-style one (which is not supported by graphics with AA fonts because it looks downright awful (the AA gets messed up)).

Wrong, IBrowse doesn't ask for different font styles in the first place .. if it did, you could blame the current ft2.library, as indeed it does not have family support, however IBrowse doesn't, so... ;)

    Hi Bigfoot,
I just wanna ask, what is VNC?
And, why does the port not support Cel shading(look at your picture), are you going to add it(if you can, I mean, if you have your mouse, keyboard,.... back!)?

aem, you must not answer the now comming questions:
Aem, do you think that other programmers would work on this port, too (even if you´re going to release it in the future)?
Is a public, downloadable version of this portation possible?

    Greethings,
    Tobibrocki

VNC is a system that lets you control one computer (in this case the Peg) by another one connected over the (inter)net.

Needless to say that GFX-refresh-rates aren't the best that way ....

Oh, how good are they (the GFX-refresh-rates) and whats the best one you can get?

VNC, if I wan´t to use the port, must I have a working Internet connection, or can I use the portation ofline, too?
