    I bought this literally only about 4 weeks ago from eBay thinking that I will play MorphOS with it. However, I don't have the patience with learning to use the Apple product (never been an Apple fan ), so I will sell this at the cost I bought this for.

    This laptop is as good as it can get for its age. I was EXTREMELY fussy and cautious with picking this and found this gem. The laptop sold to me had a dead battery, so I bought another on eBay and so far it has only charged twice (as in screenshot). I have ran this for 2 days straight to make sure all is working fine.

    If I am picky, I will list all the bits that I would consider as imperfection of this laptop, and tried to be as honest as I can:

    * the bottom has a few minor scratches, which for its age, it's really not much.
    * I think the previous owner had tried to upgrade the laptop and can see that aluminium front bezel where the LCD latches on is lightly buckled, which I think it can easily be straightened again with care. The LCD lid closes and latch on without problem.

    I can take pictures of these 'defects' if anyone is interested as I have forgotten, but as mentioned before, this is in as good condition for a machine of it's age.

    OK, the technical bits (as far as I know):

    * It's the Powerbook 5,8 which is the last 2 versions before Apple stop making these, and these can support MorphOS according to the website. So this has:
    * 15" hi-res screen (please see screenshot) - 128Mb RAM, ATI 9700
    * Super drive
    * back-lit keyboard
    * 1gb DDR2 (2x512mb) (the older version uses DDR1)
    * Netgear WG511T 108mb PCMCIA card
    * 80gb PATA HDD

    Thiis still comes in the original box.

    In addition, it comes with the following software OS (all original):

    * Original 10.4.2 OS installation disks
    * Original 10.5 OS installation disk
    * Original 10.6 Snow Leopard installation disk - not sure why the previous owner bought this as it's for Intel based CPU only, so this will not work on this laptop. I guess you can sell this on to get some money back for it.
    * Office Mac 2004 Teacher & Student edition
    * iLife & iWork - whatever these are for (sorry for my ignorance )
    * Will include an already downloaded and burnt on CD of MorphOS 3.1 (no license)

    This will all be posted within its original Powerbook box and only will be posted by trackable courier only. I will re-install the OS once it's sold.

    As I said, I'm only after what I have paid for, so no offer please. If I don't sell for the asking, I guess I'll just keep it to play with it afterall .

    £250 + courier costs (Welcome to collect to save postage and examine the laptop).

    I have listed this on another forum classified (sorry mod if this is not allowed, I will remove the link if it violates this forum rule) - http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=33226

    Mod, could I kindly ask if you could close this thread for me as I would like to post this on another forum which forbids posting the For Sale anywhere else. Thank you.

    Don't worry, go ahead and post the sale to the other forum as well, we won't tell anyone.

    If you would like to remove your sales offer, you are free to edit your original post. Closing this discussion thread, on the other hand, would disable any future editing which seems to help in no way to satisfy the requirement of the other forum.
