AGP cards went up to R700, and PCI cards up to R800 even :-)

Another fact: There's a certain OS that has been shown doing realtime 4k video decoding (using 3rd party software) on a Polaris/GCN4 graphics card put into a mainboard built around a decade-old embedded-class CPU in turn built around a pair of crippled, 1½-decade-old embedded-class CPU cores (and one of them completely idling at that) ;-)

Afaik that requires R600 or newer cards. Anyway, that wouldn't work for the majority of users (since most of our machines have no PCIe slots), so what'd be the point?

Any chance for that on MorphOS?

Well, whatever modern platform you are watching videos on, it likely does so via hardware decoding. Your CPU doesn't necessarily need to be fast (take a RaspberryPi for example).

I'm testing on a 2.3GHZ G5. There is a chance that 720p will have acceptable performance (though that means disabling vp9 support since that one is too heavy, apparently). No chances for 1080p though - just decoding video frames uses up significantly more time than a frame should be displayed for, so...

Nice to see you've achieved some real progress with video now. I assumed there were multiple data streams for YT, and probably other web video thesedays, which is a pain. :-(

It is ... probably, going to compromise smooth playback, with our limited CPU capabilities - what % of the CPU was tied up on running the videos, that's if whatever hardware you tested it on was MorphOS capable hardware, and not QEMU, or if that's the case it's likely % on real MOS PPC hardware? :-?

Nonetheless, this is good news, and great that you have managed to spend a little more time on Wayfarer improvements recently. 8-D

Impressive. Would it still be possible to include an option to play the vids like OWB does, making it possible to replay vids without much CPU overhead (in OWB you can extract the direct vid url)?

The very first video frame rendered somewhat correctly. Still a long way to go before this is usable. Mind that the playback is via a Media Source enabled player. MS has forced me to refactor most of the code I've already had. Basically on sites like YT you get chunks of data sent in by JavaScript, separately for video and audio and so you've got to run two decoding pipelines at once. The upside is that this enables higher qualities on YT. The downside is that the CPU requirements for playback are higher than with the regular route where you get an URL to a video file and handle it as you wish.

Did you send a bugreport for that? Unless I have a lot, there's little I can do.

My Fritz! Box 7590 (LAN connected with iMac G5) is running smoothly with Wayfarer 1.11.
No access problem and I just updated Fritz!OS to version 07.21.

With the official one I have the same problem as lordcoxis.

It probably won't work. Been working for a while, but they seem to have changed the website in a way that breaks stuff. You could try web.telegram.im, but no promises there.

Is web.telegram.org supposed to work? I've tried it many times, even spoofing as Safari/Chrome, but when I get to insert the confirmation code it just redirects me back to the initial sign-in page...

@ jacadcaps - thanks for the update on the W.I.P., and your and others (Dev. Team & Non-Dev.Team) involved working with you for moving it along so quickly, you, in particular, and they too should be applauded. :-D

    - my donation is overdue, and I'll get another one off to you as soon as funds allow - next week at the latest. 8-)

Work is currently progressing on Media Source Extensions support in Wayfarer (www.w3.org/TR/media-source/). This will enable media playback on many more websites as well as all of the Youtube qualities.

It will take some time before it's ready though.
