Where can I download this mui4?
Is it still Beta and/or is it stable?
What improvements does it give to add to a standard 1.4.5 install?

    It is both.

You can read the included changelog if you like. Newer version of Ambient and Sputnik requires it.

    Tried to install it.
Installer failed in the last bit I think.
    Had to reinstall everything.
Must make a backup off the boot partition first now.
What is a nice stable amibient and where to get it?

    But again some prblems..
Simplemail and some other less important things are not reacting very good on mui4 it is very slow on startup now.
    Due to some muiclasses?

Make sure you have ramdebug enabled. MUI4 displays more debug information, and broken classes like nlist make it scream. With serial debug it would make it quite slow.

In the command line you use to run morphos (startup arguments in s:startup-sequence), add ramdebug switch if it's not already there. But it's set as default IIRC on mos pup.

No real errors showed with this ramdebug option.
Seems Simplemail is not compatible with MUI4?
    Can anybody confirm this?
Well it starts up allright but incoming is empty.
When I switch to outgoing and then back it shows the list.
Also it used to start up a lot faster.
Is there a place where I can download mui4 compatible .mcc?
Thinking it has something to do with this.
Else I am going back to original mui version which reacts a lot faster but with a lot less gizmo's.

I use simplemail with no problems on the latest MUI4 and the latest Ambient build from the latest sources. I'm not sure what the problem could be for your system.

If you decide to go back make sure you restore ambient to the correct version too. It will mess up your system if you dont.

ramdebug is not meant to show errors, but to send them to ram instead of serial port, which is much faster. Anyway i'm not sure what your problem really is. Could you send a ramdebug dump after starting simplemail (use getramdebuglog tool)? Maybe we'll see what's wrong.

And about that empty list at startup, it's just yet another nlist bug. MUI4 is not at fault, broken nlist class is responsible for all this mess.

No. It's a known, small problem with MUI 4. It is not SimpleMail related. If you search in this forum, you will find some recent references to it.

Probably because you have a very fast computer.

Strange I have a peg2 which is even overclocked to 1.27 GHz.
    So should be fast enough.
Can anybody who's system is running stable send me his mui classes?
    With a pm for emailadres?
Still thinking it is some mui class which is causing problems.

amiga4001 : You probably use the serial debug...

Add "ramdebug" in your bootline on Firmware. You should have something like this :
    boot ide:0 boot.img ramdebug

The serial debug slows down your MorphOS a lot !

    /me is always in ramdebug.

I did buy it this way don't know how or what.
Only that it runs at 1.27GHz and is absolutely stabil.
Is it much faster then a normal one??
I have yet not seen a peg2 to compare this with.
    Think so..
