According to the Press Release on Genesi's PegasosPPC.com Pages, there is new opportunity and gains from the POWER Article on IBM's website.

Be certain that a new HAL/OF concept could very well change PowerPC based platforms forever.

    I guess they see the firmware as a potential money maker and want it to be perfect before relese. The "half-official" update was a good thing though, and quite necessary, despite any (if any at all) flaws it might have had ...
