1. Because it flat-out won the voting.
2. arosTCP/amiTCP3 is open source, and it is a doable port (according to those in the AROS IRC channel).
While I'm inclinced to agree that it is almost a "why bother", it is also something that has the potential to strengthen a programmer's skills, tempt a lost programmer to come back, or may even inspire another application.
I hope to start getting the others up and going one day at a time too.
