Codex Alpe Adria 2005 aims to remain the small but high-quality event with a familiar atmosphere that made it so enjoyable to visitors of previous editions, while at the same time focus not only on technology and people, but also on itself and its possible futures.
Codex Alpe Adria 2005 will cover the latest alternative computing news, add a glimpse of the past, and let people show and see hardware and software. The event aims to offer an opportunity for fellow software and hardware developers and users to meet with an open mind, embodying the values of friendship, diversity, creativity and excellence that Codex Alpe Adria stands for.
The
geographical location of Udine and its many transportation options, which include
three airports and a wealth of low-fare airlines, make it a different place with fresh potential to meet people with similar interests from the East and the West, the North and the South of Europe, and beyond. The venue itself is
located in the most multicultural part of town, within five minutes walking distance from the
train station, the city center, and the official
hotel.
Codex Alpe Adria 2005 will be free to all attendees, including those who need some desk space, or a little bit more than that. Complimentary refreshments (local wine, cheese and other delicacies) will be served all day.
Pre-registration is appreciated. The Saturday event will be preceded and followed by dinners with friends and tours across the region. The organizers, exhibitors, special guests and volunteers which are making the event possible are working hard to make this an experience you won't want to miss, and help you put together a memorable vacation around the show.
Whether you can stay one night or one week, just
tell us if you need anything, and our team will work hard to find it for you. And once you are here we will of course guide you to some typical places to
eat and have a glass (or two...) of local vino (wine).
We are extremely humbled and grateful for the support and feedback we received so far, and we look forward to making you have a great time in Udine.
Your Codex Alpe Adria FriendsCloanto is also trying to organize some car pooling from/to the airports, and will answer to any question you might have. So will I, if you will ask me.
Last year AmigaOS4 was presented by no less than a couple of its developers and Ben Hermans. Of course MorphOS representatives would be equally welcome. This year's event will feature for the first time also a
Demo Compo, more information about it will follow soon.
