Yes, is this different from the #morphos on the Vapor IRC servers such as ch1.arcnet.vapor.com?

I do not believe it is wise to have competing #morphos channels on different IRC nets. Best to focus everybody on the one channel, isn't it?

I remember back in the days where certain channels had bots that would be on both nets and echo comments though, something like that would make dual #morphos channels more sensible.

Yes. It would be best to just move the channel to the new server instead of having 2 channels like we have now...

I highly agree with Jupp3. IMHO old channel should shut down for good (yeah.. i know bigfoot, freenode blows ;)

There are a few reasons why the channel on freenode makes more sense than on ARCNET. I liked ARCNET very much the past few years, but these reasons are a bit stronger. :)

    The both main reasons:

    1. Certain people had/ have serious problems of certain kind to join at all to ARCNET.

    2. Many other important channels are on freenode, so having #morphos over here too makes a lot of sense. Also to get rid of extra AmiRC instances (a problem wich xchat user do not have f.ex. ;)

    These includes channels like:

    #pegasos.org (swedisch pegasos community)
    #amiganews.de (german amiga/morphos community)
#aros (developer channel of the aros ppl)
    #pegasosppc (linux support for pegasos)
#morphzone (the new channel which includes old #morphzone+#phoenix channel from arcnet)

And a whole bunch of project channels where certain developers meet to discuss/ develop their projects.

I'm mostly only on freenode now too, so... :-)

    regards,
    tokai
