From what I've seen in Genesi video presentation accompanying the press release, Genesi will license Pegasos hardware to China manufacturers. It will be great to have Pegasos II (or maybe III in the future) mainboards available for less than 100 euro :-)

I haven't seen the video... but if what you say is true
the implications will be far greater than 100 euro boards.
It could mean Genesi will have unbelievable opportunities
abroad!!! And possibly the revenue to put into developing
some of their future products on an accellerated scale!!

Completely unfair...what does MorphOS run on...a Pegasos right? Any
opportunity to increase Pegasos sales is a good thing! WHo knows, one
day we might be paying $500...or $400 for a Peg II to run MOS
on instead of $600. There might be a Peg 3

Harsh commercial realities means MorphOS is not a priority and no
other reason...in fact Genesi continued to support it even in the face
of that until available funds dictated otherwise.

So yah boo to you...and cheer up!

Now that that is clear, if we can keep MorphOS moving ahead and MorphOS developers earning a living against real business opportunities (which they never have in terms of MorphOS) then one day we might again be able to advance MorphOS for your desktop. That is not the situation today. smellie_cry.gif

Please consider the broader world out there of open source software. Unless you have a niche the days of proprietary operating systems are over. That is why we found this niche for MorphOS. Contrast MorphOS to the $500,000,000 Sun has spent on developing Solaris and the 3000 man years it took to get it where it is. Solaris will be completely open. smellie_whistle.gif

There is not much you can do to compete with that, but it we can keep making the Pegasos, upgrading it and reducing the cost ( smellie_chinese.gif ), the opportunity environment will continue to grow for MorphOS. smellie_jumplol.gif
