I *know* it is reality and I *know* it is honesty on your part....but:

Don't ever take pre-orders, or even mention pre-orders...it really isn't worth the abuse you'll receive.

Whatever happened to the old fashioned method of getting quantities allocated from production runs and just selling them? I assume we're only talking a handful of boards per month..so the cash outlay can't be that outrageous? (Well assuming your margins are supported by business outside of this start-up market)

I totally agree if it involves pre-payment. If they're just taking
orders but won't charge people until they ship, it's perfectly OK..
but I couldn't find any such info on the homepage. So if that's the
case.. please update the information to reflect this.

    Relax Guys,

If you have paid attention to the PegII dilemma's posted
on this site throughout the last 6 months, you would know
that UltraSpec's pre-order announcement does not mean prepay!!

It means that they are making an order, and want to know How much
Immediate demand their is for their product. Anyone who has dealt
with ultraspec knows that they give great product support, and
are not interested in duping their customers.

    Hi Katos --

Thank you for the kind words.

Thanks to the critics also :) your feedback is always welcome!

We do not charge any money until we have the boards in our hands, have tested them, and have shipped them to the customer.

By accepting pre-orders we can get an idea of how many we need to order to meet demands, and can assure the customers who want one that boards will be in stock for them.

Pre-order sucks, end of story..was hoping to never hear those words again.

I am relaxed and yes, I know it's not pre-pay. I think my explanation was both complete and fair.

After a few more months under their belt, maybe dealers will have a better idea of demand and actually be able to order production quantities ahead of time

Ultraspec: Ok, then I think it's quite ok, but as I said, I think you
should state beside the text that says "pre-order" something like "no
money charged before shipment" or similar, as I couldn't find any such
    info.

Oh.. and also I never implied that those companies who do pre-charge
normally are doing this in some attempt to fraud people, I think
normally they are not, but it's still bad.
