Yeah, Opera sure could be nice... Wasn't there some early effort to port Opera to Amiga? There might be some sources left (if it started at all) but likely Opera has changed a lot since then...

    Don't want to be a spoil-sport (.... o.k., thats a lie :-o ), but IMHO the guy
who runs that site is just as suitable for running such a site as the guy with
the similar birthname who has a strong hand on a similar named site.
(and even for the same reasons).

Enthausism (sp ?) is good, but when it comes to the point where ones doesn't
see reality anymore, it will most likely do more bad than good to the "cause".

Just remember what is associated with the "name" by big SW-companies due
to people pestering them with unrealistic plans for non-existing markets, and
you should understand what chances those "name(s)" has (have) once they
actually have a market to be supported by those companies.

    @MorphDelf

Don't worry about those who only remember "he was a name pusher." You can only make decisions based on what you can see at any given time. I would implore everyone to keep an open mind. AmigaWorld.ORG is a very nice resource, and sooner or later whatever detractors there are will come around.

About Opera, I just hope it can be done. Nothing more, nothing less. Good luck :-)

    Hi !

Well, having Opera (aka a real full featured browser) would really rock.
I guess it can only be slower than current ones (AWeb, or Voyager) but certainly a lot of more complete.

But, I don't think Opera will ever do that or help to. Anyway, you can say to Opera guys that every single MorphOS user would certainly register to Opera.

PS: Opera should use MUI :-)

    Good luck.

Huh, was that aimed at me ???? :-o

I don't have anything against people going from one extreme to another
(hey I was once in those shoes myself), but I must admit that find it hard
to "trust" somebody who does it in just a few days ....

But I do have a problem with people
    - setting out for gigantic tasks, without having a basic clue.
    - demanding others to help in those futile projects.
    - pestering developers with "port this, port that".
    - pestering developers with their personal whishes, ignoring that they have allready
been told that they are no top-priority.
    - developers making (pre-)announcements for stuff they have just started.
    - developers pulling release dates out of thin air.
    - non-developers pulling release dates out of thin air :-P

And thats something I have no problem voicing, not matter wether it is black, blue,
    green or red.

Wouldn't it be nice if those working on a project would simple wait till they got
something real to show ? Or atleas give out realistic status-reports ?

Wouldn't it be nice if those wanting to start a big project would first look into it,
find out what THEY got do themselves, and only than ask for help ?

Wouldn't it be nice if people demanding obscure open-source-ports without
even remotly understanding the basic works involved in such a port would just STFU ? :-D

    @Kronos

Nah, not aimed at you specifically. I heard several ppl that had the same concerns about Ami/Morph-Delf. :-)

Besides, I understand your points :-P I just feel that we should welcome any new user to MorphOS. It may be hard to give someone a clean slate, but we should at least make them feel welcomed. Then again, maybe I'm just wierd! 8-)
