Wayfarer, the MorphOS web browser, now based on WebKitGTK 2.52.5.

The browser comes in two builds. The standard Wayfarer binary is now the JIT build, and Wayfarer-Light omits JIT, media playback and GL rendering. Rendering has moved to the Skia graphics library. R300-R500 Radeons now draw web pages with Skia-GL for vast performance improvements, and canvas is accelerated with TinyGL where possible. JavaScript and WebAssembly are faster, with a new WASM interpreter, SIMD support and further JIT optimizations. Many parts of WebKit gained AltiVec code paths, including WebP decoding, which is dramatically faster. Cloudflare Turnstile challenges now pass, and the browser switches the user agent automatically for sites that need it.

Media support is much improved, with vastly better YouTube playback, fixes for seeking and HLS streams, faster Web Audio, and Gamepad support. Slow codecs such as VP9 have been dropped. An auto-installed user script also speeds up YouTube loading and blocks video ads.

    Wayfarer is now the JIT version, while Wayfarer-Light is the non-JIT one. If you upgraded from earlier version and used the Wayfarer-JIT version before, make sure you update your shortcuts and panels to launch "Wayfarer" instead. After this change you should remove Wayfarer-JIT from the application directory.
