A new release of the native paint program for MorphOS. Cameleon 1.2 brings the workflow of the big desktop editors to MorphOS: transforming layers right on the canvas, text that stays sharp and editable, and real copy & paste between programs.

What's new:
  1. Free Transform (Layer → Free Transform): a frame appears around the active layer. Drag to rotate, scale from the corners and edges, or move, all previewed live. Enter applies, Esc cancels. Repeated rotations no longer make the layer grow, because the transparent margin is trimmed.
  2. Vector text: a text layer can be rotated and scaled and re-renders crisply from the font (FreeType) instead of blurring. It stays editable: just click it with the Text tool. Pressing Esc while typing commits the text and opens Free Transform straight away.
  3. Tool groups: Shapes (circle, ellipse, rectangle) and Paths (line, polygon, Bézier) share one toolbar slot. A left click uses the last variant, a right click pops a menu with the others, and a small corner triangle marks which buttons have one.
  4. Brushes reworked: a brush is now a grey mask tip painted in the foreground colour. Define Brush (Ctrl+B) turns a selection or layer into a tip, and Load as Brush tip does the same with any picture. Strokes follow the brush's spacing.
  5. System clipboard: Copy, Cut and Paste work inside Cameleon and with other programs (IFF ILBM). Pasted images arrive as a new layer.
  6. Layer menu: Duplicate, Flatten, Merge Visible and Merge Down now work.
  7. Panels: Layers and Color are now one docked panel.
  8. Stability: fixed a heap corruption when drawing while switching tools, and a brush stamp that could write past a layer's edge.
