Cameleon 1.0 is here — the first stable release of the native MorphOS image editor. The program has graduated from its development phase to a full 1.0.
What's new in 1.0:
Parametric pen generator (a Photoshop‑style brush engine): a pen is defined by a set of parameters and generated on the fly, with a new pen editor and a live stroke preview — tip shape, shape dynamics, scattering, texture, transfer, colour dynamics, dual brush and smudge. A pen picker lists pens as live previews grouped by category; save your own as small .cpen files.
16 new point & colour effect plugins: Contrast, Gamma, Saturation, Hue, Temperature, Tint, Exposure, Vibrance, Posterize, Solarize, Sepia, Vignette, Scanlines, Noise, Colorize and Black & White — each with sliders, previewed live on the canvas, confined to the selection and fully undoable.
Working per‑channel A/R/G/B edit masks.
Layers with blending and opacity, non‑destructive layer masks, and drag & drop of Workbench images straight onto the Layers window.
A redrawn, unified line‑art toolbar (with an eraser), selections (rectangle, ellipse, magic wand, lasso; feather/grow/shrink/invert), text, gradients, curves & colours, scaling & transforms.
Save and reload editable Cameleon projects (layers, blending, opacity, masks) and export to PNG/JPEG/BMP and more.
Native MorphOS, 32‑bit RGBA with a full alpha channel, AltiVec‑accelerated; a localisable interface.
