This is the first time an Amiga-compatible 32-bit big-endian system has had a browser with a speculative JIT (*). This tier offers a typical speed improvement of 6x on most websites and up to 11x in Kraken benchmarks. Also enabled is the YARR regular expression JIT, which significantly improves load times on websites that rely heavily on regex. WebSocket Extensions support fixes various web services. This release also brings improvements to the garbage collector, memory footprint, and scroll handling.
Wayfarer now comes in two variants: the JIT version requires systems with at least 1 GB of RAM (2 GB recommended).
(*) While we've had Odyssey-JIT before, DFG is a tier above its baseline JIT and offers much better performance. A lot of work went into optimizing all 3 tiers the Wayfarer JIT binary supports - to get LLINT to be on par with non-JIT Wayfarer, to get the baseline JIT as fast as possible and to bring DFG up.
