Use of commercial application create with Hollywood/designer in action

Christoph and Sébastien Poelzl, two nice representatives of RMS-Communications have made a project of interactive terminal based on Hollywood under MorphOS. It consists of a touch-sensitive screen of 22 " using the driver Poseidon under MorphOS installed on a Mac mini 1,5GHz.

This border is in commercial service in the private hospital Bois-Cerf http://www.hirslanden.ch/global/en/home/hospitals_and_centres/clinique_bois-cerf.html (Wood-deer, link for English website) in Lausanne (Switzerland). Here are other views included 2 of the terminal :

It presents to the patients and the visitors the works of enlargement in an interactive way thanks to a Hollywood application.

This project of interactive terminal enters within the framework of a much more important project which will have to implement touch-sensitive screens which can go to 42 " and even beyond. They can be proposed on various markets and could be placed in luxury hotels, tourist information offices or/and in other private or public complexes.

In parallel RMS-Communications has commissioned and collaborated with Andreas Falkenhahn of Airsoftwair to develop a Hollywood concept/application on IPad.

Reminder of the communiqué of 25-09-2011 11:02 :

“Hollywood has recently been ported to the iPad (ARM architecture) by order of a commercial customer who needs to use it on tablet devices in clinics and hotels. A small demo video of Hollywood running on iPad has been uploaded to : YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-I064zDRyM Unfortunately, it will most likely not be possible to integrate iPad support into Hollywood's cross-compiler because of several technical and legal restrictions that iPad apps are subject to. For commercial customers, however, we can now offer several solutions to get their Hollywood projects converted into iPad apps".

And it is not finished, as Christoph, of RMS-Communications, works in close collaboration with Andreas Falkenhahn, Hollywood Designer's developer, he has the privilege of betatesting his products. On the occasion of the Alchimie 111111 in France he received the authorization to show the next version of Hollywood Designer 3.1.

About RMS-Communications:

RMS-Communications is known and recognized as an innovative agency at the level of the advertising and the communication in Swiss French. Where it distinguishes itself it is to work with MorphOS operating system (on Pegasos and Mac). It involves a lot on developing the system and the programs.
On the other hand, it was already noticed by collaborating with RELEC on some events. It moreover received the first "Communication and offer of service Trophy" during the “Multimedia Exhibition of Colmar” (France) in 2009 for the development of its new software package of type ERP's management, presented on MorphOS. The jury of Colmar has been convinced by all the alternative advantages of MUIBase ERP: cross-platform, portable, very friendly and smooth graphic interface for a complete solution and sold in moderate costs in SME (small and medium-sized enterprise) : Feature article http://www.colmar-multimedia.com/documents/presse/newsletter_4_03_09.pdf , unfortunately only in French.

Yes, very impressive to see a commercial successful use of MorphOS running a Hollywood application. I hope they make some other developers notice and think about doing the same. We need more third party developers programming on MorphOS.

Yes indeed, we really have a great OS but need more, more, more high quality third party software to be able to do professionnal stuff.

We already have very good stuff, like Blender for 3D, MUIbase, Designer/Hollywood, AudioEvolution, Mplayer/Mencoder, ShowGirls, etc. but IMO the biggest missing piece of software would be a modern image editing software... and also an updated version of the DTP program PageStream5 for MorphOS, would be very much needed. PageStream5 could then also be used as a very high quality Texteditor like Word, but also for vector editing/drawing like Illustrator does. I use PageStream4 for now, it's very good but getting too old...

It's more than one year ago that a bugfix was released for Amiga/MorphOS. Version 5 has been published around 6 years ago and on Amiga/MorphOS it is still said to be too buggy to use. This plus the fact that there is no demo version (although there is for any other platofrm) is the reason why I did not buy it. No need for a second Papyrus Office trauma. This was my intention to express. They did not succeed to stabilize the software during 6 years, nor did they find someone who does the job on doing the needed modifications for AOS/MOS. As you say yourself (and as I read from man others) they still use PS4 due to too many bugs in PS5. So after 6 years of buggy versions, do you call this "development"? This is where my doubtful question comes from. If there is, then I am happy for you. Hopefully I can see it in action sometime and try by myself. But it has taken so long until now and I never read of anybody who regularly uses PS5.

You are right it's really a long time since something was done on PGS5 but it is beeing worked on, so hopefully we will see a fully working version very soon and let's hope that a lot of users will use it when it's released because it's really a great and very high quality program. It's great to see that another high quality software arrives for MorphOS, IMO another big step forward!

I am also waiting for Pagestrean 5!
Hopefully it will be released ever.
With mos 3 there will be an updated mui (opertunity to redraw parts of an gui component) that will help development of PS.
Sadly there wont be an updated printing system.
    regards

I do hope that a stable and functional version will come out soon as I am missing a decent word processor. If it is good, if I can see it somewhere in real life (best on my own system for testing) then I'm sure going to buy it. It's a shame that it is not possible to obtain Wordworth, Final Writer, AmigaWriter, or MaxonWord sources to polish them for today.
