Uhm, not exactly the best day for such an announcement! :-P
I'd say someone is playing with the fire: if this is a joke not even
people like me will defend the team, this time! ;-)

    Kind regards,
    Andrea

April Fools Day pranks are traditionally performed before 12 midday, but this story was posted after 7pm. Either:

    1. The story poster didn't know about the tradition.
    2. It was before 12 midday in their time zone when the story was posted.
    3. The best news the MorphOS community has had in a long time.

I suspect that the answer to the puzzle is no.1. My heart wants me to believe no.3.

On the other hand it would perfectly fit the well known sarcastic
style of the team: to release a loooong awaited announcement right
    today...

    Kind regards,
    Andrea

guruman, is the MorphZone member JoBBo also a known member of the MorphOS Development Team? I'm fairly new here so I haven't got a clue.

Yes, JoBBo is a member of the MorphOS team. He is Andre Siegel, and he
is the author of most of the gfx in MorphOS (icons, skins, but also
websites, pictures, including the one you find in this very news).
Moreover, the announcement can be found also in the official page:
    http://www.morphos-team.net/news.html

    Kind regards,
    Andrea

    Better timing is not possible...

    Go for Gold!

Wait for the announcements at ESC - Silicon Valley.

In the meanwhile, please sign up for a new Power Developer Project. There are three new programs.

    R&B :-)

P.S. Smuggling?! What?! Millions?! Only 'smuggling' lots of good hope for MorphOS and plenty of commercial opportunity... ;-)

Let's hope it is a real announcement. if it isn't I shall lose all faith. but I'm quite sure even the MOS Team have more taste than to pull a "prank" such as this.

    Roll-on MOS2 in Q2 !! :-D

Yeah great news... It is about time for 2.0 to be released I just hope that it will come with a stable and fast web browser in the standard setup. Sput is cool but it would not work very well with many sites. I can enjoy my videos, listen to music, burn DVDs and play games with Peg2... If I had a good browser to surf the net Peg2 would be my main machine :D
