Archive : : MorphOS Registration for PEGASOS Owners

The MorphOS Support Team would like to ask anybody who attempted to register at support.morphos-team.net in the past few months but failed to receive a reply to try to register again. If you registered between the months of October and December of 2007, you should have received a reply by now so please check your mailboxes.

During the registration process, we kindly ask that you make sure you provide correct information. Any sign of invalid information - such as a fake serial number which was provided on purpose -  will result in the refusal of your registration attempt.

Please note that the forementioned statement does not apply to PowerUP registrations. We are not aware of any problems during the same time period. All valid PowerUP registrations have been processed and will continue to be.

Thank you,
MorphOS Support Team

Could anyone tell me, where I can find number of my Pegasos? I have looked for any sticker on motherboard, but unfortunately I could not find anything. The little sticker with bPlan logo and some number is on the CPU card, is THIS sticker and THIS number?
Next problem - I have got machine from second hand, what I should put as "purchased from"? "previous user" would be right?

Yes, it's the number from the sticker on a cpu card. A matching sticker should also be on the bottom of the mainboard.

As for 2nd hand: yes, the name of the previous user will work fine.

I have the opposite problem: My Pegasos I G3 April 2 is not second, but third hand, and I don't have the details for the original owner.
If I gave you the serial number, could you tell me if it's already registered? I'd like to have it registered to myself.

By the way, for what is this personal data used for?

I already registered lots of time ago...

And I receive quite normally the mailing list since then...

    Is this a NEW registration?

    Should I register again?

I basically have the same question as Raf.

I registered my Peg 1 back in the days but not the peg2s I bought later. IIRC MOS2 will be dongled with a single machine. Is it necessary to register the computer(s) with this system to run MOS2 on it or will this be handled differently?

No. If it was a new registration system, the text would clearly say so :-)

There is no need to register again if you have successfully done so in the past.

    @weiseb, and @all

MOS2 registrations will be handled differently. You should only register now, if you need access to the 1.4.5 Download area/Support site, because for example you've just bought a Peg second hand, and you need MorphOS for it, or your MorphOS 1.4 install CD broke and/or you lost the password for the Download Area. In all other cases the registration, or re-registration is not necessary, as it has no effect on access to any future MorphOS versions.

Also, showing your support by giving unnecessary extra work to the support team (including myself) is really *NOT* a good idea. So again, for example people with Efika waiting for MOS2 should *NOT* register on this site.

And again, registrations with invalid-on-purpose Pegasos serial numbers will be *REJECTED*. I mention this here again, because even if this is stated in the news item, we've got quite a few registrations with "faked" serial numbers lately. If you don't know your serial number: not a problem, simply mention this in the comment field at least, and provide "unknown", 0 or N/A, or something like that in the serial number field.

And for last, please give us a few days to answer, especially now, around christmas. All incoming registrations will be processed.

..So this was the xmas gift from the MOS Team? Same old registration, but now with fixed SMTP config :-). An incredible effort I must say.

Think I'd died if I had to wait 1.5 more weeks for this.
