(I am simply frustrated answering the very same question hundreds of hundreds of times), the Efika can support two IDE devices - the interface is ATA-4 compliant after all and can support a master and a slave.
Neko, maybe you are exaggerating just a tiny bit about "hundreds and hundreds of times."

You can use the Addonics CFIDE adapter which allows two CompactFlash cards... However cables are not supported...
What?! I have never even used an IDE device that didn't have a cable! I understand the hard-drive fits onto the Efika without a cable, but still... I appreciate having the comments of the developer relations manager, but could we get an explanation on this from one of the hardware engineers, to give us some texture on why this cable condition exists?
If cables could be used there would be some interesting possibilities, because there are devices besides static memory cards that use the CompactFlash connector. Like SVGA and XGA hardware. I guess you referred to
this. Here is an
XGA device and here an
SVGA one.Sure, there might be technical difficulties in actually using things like those on the Efika, and drivers would have to be written, but it's interesting to muse about the theoretical possibilities. If a cable could be used and the video were run through the CompactFlash connector from the IDE port it would free up the PCI port.
Now here is what BBRV posted a couple months or so ago: "Here is the word from Gerald: DVD works. MorphOS works. Freescale loves it." So was Gerald talking about a USB DVD?
