What could you do while waiting for MorphOS 2.0... What about playing a nice game on your Pegasos ?
Fabien "Fab1" Coeurjoly just finished porting "Warzone 2100" to MorphOS. The game was developped by Pumpkin Studios and released by Eidos on PC (1999) and Playstation (2001).The source code was made available in 2004.
Warzone 2001 is a Real Time Strategy game. You only need the following archive to play the game, only audio tracks and videos are missing.

Your feedback would be much appreciated, some corrections can be made :)

You can grab it here (and express your gratitude to Fab1 as well) :

Wow, what a suprise :) Great work, Fab! It looks like it is a very good game!

Is there any way to have the videos too? (E.g. copying them from the original release somewhere...)

It seems video sequences replay code wasn't provided when game source code was opened, and it's still not implemented. The video playback function just does nothing at the moment.

About music support (music/music.wpl with a ogg/mp3) playlist, i'll upload a new archive soon, as there were still endianess issues and even serious bugs in the playlist handling.

I'd also like to do something about the (black) cursor and shadow support, but i'm not sure it will be possible.

The game works very well on my system, the speed is also ok!

However there is some bug during the loading, the progressbar seems to be broken.

Progress bar isn't broken. It simply looks weird :-)

@Fab, Any news about more visible pointer? ;-)

If there are many units game slowndowns. I turned off shadows (Almost invisible diffrences) in config and now it works faster :-)

    Korni,

For the pointer issue, i guess my only option is to check that with itix as there's not much i can do on my side it seems (except maybe hijacking sdl window pointer, but it would be quite hacky).

About shadows, i even recommand you switch them off as they don't really work and even mess up depth arrangement for some objects.

I also regularly check svn branch in case they would fix the remaining endianess issues (the ones that at least prevent multiplayer mode from working correctly).

just a small question. Why does it require tinygl.library? Isn't it 2D based like Earth 2140?

No, it's a 3D RTS (using opengl, hence tinygl.library), one of the first, and it's actually quite good.

Original PC version also had a software renderer i think, but it was removed from the project sources.
