the next public release of MorphOS will support the EFIKA.

    That means

    1. Next release of MorphOS is coming... :)
    2. Delay while EFIKA support is sorted out... :(

Oh well, maybe #1 is enough.

Nice to hear. I cant find any use for a MOS/Efika combination for myself, but there should be some opportunities where they will shine.

semi-good news i guess. at least MorphOS has a manufactured platform to run on. so if my 1ghz Peg breaks i can now buy a 400mhz based system :-) not ideal situation but at least it would be something.

now bplan/genesi need to get to work on a Peg3 hardware with MOS support. then I will ditch my Peg2 and buy it.

I will probably put one in my living room, one in the bathroom and one in my garage and use them with ANR as mp3 jukeboxes (etc), both streaming from Internet and from the local mp3 collection. Another one might find its use together with Linux and an IDE controller card as a combined printer server (I have two USB printers that I would like to make available on the network) and NAS server for bulk-storage purposes.

With this price of the Efika, things like this is quite realistic (not to mention how it would be at $99! :-)).

    :-D

I really hope that Sputnik won't feel too sluggish on Efika when it's finished, but AFAIK Sputnik has its roots in Nokia's mobile world (not exactly a super computer envireonment).?

This is the best news since the Pegasos2 was released. Keep going, M-Team, and I just know that a successful commercial product can be made from this.

PS: Genesi, please offer an out-of-the-box MOS-Efika product for end-users who don't like to plug in wires to motherboards and buy parts and assemble things.

Great news, will probably get one of these. Many with me who have been amigans for years but are more interested in classic (I hate that word) (for me because of the demoscene) will probably make the step to newschool amigas as the pricepoint of the Efika is just right.

MOS Devel thank you!!!!! I have $199 for the mobo...get the screenshots of MOS 1.5(??) ;) running on it then I will buy this.. (I hope before XMAS you get the screenshots :)

I cant wait to take this to the next local Amiga User group meeting.. (yes its 60 miles away, only a handful of members...but boy they were impressed when I took my Peg I over there.

Will this be 1.5? Is MOS going to be a extra charge? (no biggie...you guys deserve it)

I'll be buying one as my first MorphOS machine!

I have a question: Would the Efika+MorphOS be quick enough to run UAE at an acceptable speed to emulate a standard Amiga 500?

I'm guessing it would, because it runs OK on my GP2X with the CPU clocked up to 275MHz, but I'd rather get an opinion from someone who's used it on MorphOS.
