Guillaume Roguez has ported the open source raytracer YafRay to MorphOS. There are plans to eventually integrate it into the 3D graphics application Blender (MorphOS-Port by the same author), but currently there is only a standalone version of YafRay.  The raytracer is available for download as a MorphUp-index (package management for MorphOS).

    now i will again start with blender... if it will be possible to create images like on the yafray pages.... great times for morphos beginns :-)

    Yeah, the pictures surely looks awesome. BTW, I think I have mentioned this before somewhere, but do check Cinema 4D galleries if youre interested in rendered pics.. some incredible work of art there.

    Cinema4D could definitly be the killer app amongst *migaOS variants, now making it worth porting over MorphOS is quite another history...

    Perhaps Efika with a good 3d card could give a good run for the money as a personal modeler, perhaps it could even make use of OWD.

    A Dongle that happen to run Cinema4D! ;-)

    Yafray 0.0.9 and an update of blender are available on my .pmi today (2006-08-01).

    Short install note:
    after to have installed Yafray (and blender), copy the libs directory from Yafray install dir where the binary 'blender' is located. Then move directory 'yafray' in libs, at the same level than blender binary.

    XML usage of yafray is disable in Blender
    And now... next project!
