After two years of active development, we are proud to announce the immediate availability of the free MorphOS 3D Update pack.
image
This pack brings Warp3D and OpenGL(R) API compatibility to a whole new range of hardware including 3dfx Voodoo and ATI Radeon.

TinyGL library is heavily optimized and special care has been taken to improve the OpenGL(R) compliance.

It now offers an extended set of advanced features including cubic mapping, display lists, stencil buffering, multitexturing, mipmapping, palette texture handling, non-blocking rendering (no context locking is required), compiled vertex arrays, user clipping planes, selection buffer, evaluators, a GLUT implementation and much more.

Warp3D libraries have been improved and offer more compatibility than any known implementation on the market.

3D hardware supported on Pegasos2, Pegasos1 and PowerUP machines:
- 3Dfx Avenger (Voodoo 3)
- 3Dfx Napalm
(Voodoo 4 and Voodoo 5)

3D hardware supported on Pegasos2 and Pegasos1 machines:
- ATI rv100 (Radeon 7000 and Radeon VE)
- ATI r100 (Radeon 7200)
- ATI rv200 (Radeon 7500)

3D hardware supported on Pegasos2 machines:
- ATI r200 (Radeon 8500 and Radeon 9100)
- ATI rv250 (Radeon 9000)
- ATI rv280 (Radeon 9200 and Radeon 9250)

The MorphOS 3D Update pack requires MorphOS 1.4.5 and is freely available on our FTP site and download portal.
Please visit http://3d.morphos-team.net/ for additional information.

We hope you will enjoy using this pack as much as we enjoyed creating it.
Keep your graphics processor busy!

Best Regards,
Frank, Mark, Michal and Nicolas.

Great! That was a major feature missing in MorphOS (besides a native
TCP/IP stack)! Thanks a lot to the MorphOS team for their effort!

But I'm still missing the TinyGL developer kit, which was promised to
appear for download at the MDC.

My Radeon 8500LE is in the Peg1 I have after the upgrade offer, and I kept the Voodoo3. Now I can exchange it back, and both machines will have 3D support :-)

Many thanks! (Paypal should bugger off for their limitations on Hungary)

Hi guys! Long time lurker, first time poster, love the site! Anyway, are there any freely available games or other software to test with this? If I try the freespace demo it either locks up or says it needs chunkyppc.library v31 or higher. Anything else to try?

Thank you a lot for releasing the 3d drivers!

But I have some trouble with WipeOut. Tracks on the 2nd class (venom) are running fine for about 20 - 30 seconds and then it suddenly slows massively down, really massive, to 1 - 2 fps or so.

    I use radeon Club3D 7000/64 with Peg1.

Behavior comes independently from using some 24 Bit screen with double or triple buffering or playing it on Ambient window.

16 Bit sreens do not work at all.

IIRC there was a bugfix for WipeOut back when the Voodoo drivers saw the light of public. Does it fix this issue abd where to obtain it?

I thought I'd dig up this old thread to remind everyone just how long in the tooth TinyGL actual is.
While 3D drivers have been introduced since the 9200 was supported, without Warp3D support of course, TinyGL has only improved incrementally.

Isn't it about time we considered promoting a bounty for the development of OpenGL ES compatibility?
