Sometimes Amirc 3.5.25 crash, seems be when disconnect to the server or something, i dont know exactly why.

Any that have the same error? Could Zapek ( or the people who make amirc ) fix it for MorphOS ( a patch or something ) or a little revision that fixes this, please ?

And sometimes Ibrowse 2.3 crashes too!

There is not much to fix when it comes to compability with MorphOS.

No crashes here. But fragmentation increases
heavily, even more when sound is used.

Uh, im not the only that amirc 3.5.25 crashes on the system.

Any probed a lot of time connected? :P

I crashed AmIRC a very few times in years of usage ...

I spend quite some time in IRC and change
servers too ...
I even use it for ICQ with bitlbee
so I guess your crashed may have another reason ?
Like network drivers or certain action associated
with the server change ? Buggy amirc plugin ?

I use MiamiDX for connect, no dhcp, no pppoe or something, only connect to gateway, mask...
Connected to the OpenBSD server thanks to PF and ADSL static ip on the server.

I run AmIRC 3.5.25 (which apparently some people claim to be very buggy) and I mostly have three AmIRC's up (three different servers) on my Pegasos, which is on almost 24/7. Cant recall it's ever crashed on my Peg for the couple of months I've had it, and not on my A4000 PPC either, that I can remember.

Since I'm not sure which MUI classes are used by AmIRC and someone wanted me to post versions I have made two textfiles and put on my home page. One for the ones coming with MorphOS and one for the third party ones:

Amirc 3.5.25 crashes here too! But it has a strange behaviour: if it crashes it does it when I launch it and it connectes to the server; sometimes as soon it connects to the server I have a 'meditation appliccation'. But If this not happens at startup I will have it running for hours and days... It rocks.
But, I repeat sometimes it happens that as soon I launch it and it reach connection with the server it freezes. However often I can remove it and launch again.
I fear it depens on some mui classes, because I have same problem with IBrowse 2.3 too.

your problem may also be related to the tcp/ip stack. What stack are you using, and how are you connected?

Here in channels with lots of traffic and many users and some dcc's you can be sure that sooner than later it's either NList, gauge.mui or AmIRC itself which crashes. This also happens of course when doing just the daily idling IRC, but not that often.

There is for sure a problem on disconnection. It sometimes hangs, especially when the disconnection is unexpected. For example, on arcnet, when i reconnect too quickly, the server disconnects me (rather annoying) and sometimes amirc crashes on this disconnection.

Amirc can also hang when you try to join a channel you're banned from, on connection.

All these bugs are probably fixed in the unreleased amirc versions anyway. :)

I'm useing MiamiDX and I'm behind a routr + modem ADSL.

this is a very reproductible problem.
i can make amirc crash very easly.
it just need to download large files often, and being online for one day (sometimes less),
and you're sure to crash it.

i don't know if the problem come from often downloading files or from colorful personnal settings or whatever, but it's there.
thoses who say that amirc don't crash: they're simply don't use it enough, on time basis, and with lots of downloads..

Hmm.. I use AmIRC 24h/365d and it is rock stable. But I just recall I'm using AmIRC 3.5.23...
