After 14 years on amigas and nothing but bad news since 1995, Morph and Pegasos sound pretty good. Can you give me some links that have the best Faqs, features and tech specs on the new systems. I want to do some reading before I decide to pour some money into a new system.
    Thanks

    Hi !

morph.zone and www.morphos-news.de f are good sites for link, news...
About tech specs, there are the one of the Pegasos I available, but they are "outdated" because it"s no more available (are hardly) and the Pegasos II should come soon(tm)*.
To make you decision, you should just have a look here sometimes to times.

*, soon has never the same meaning for dev than for user ! ;-)

Thanks for the link info. I've already been looking at a lot of info on morphzone. I'll try the other places too. So there is no tech link to the specs on the Pegasos II yet? And can someone explain the relationship between MorphOS, Genisi and Pegasos? Are they 3 separate companies or just peices of the same one?

    Thanks

I read a post mentioning you can also run MorphOS on a PPC Mac. Is that true or do you have to have the Pegasos motherboard?

You may be able to do that, but only by so magic at the moment.
The Mac is not officialy support. You have to get e Pegasos motherboard to be able to run MorphOS, you may also get an Amiga PPC but you will need to ask for MorphOS 1.4 for AmigaPPC which is not available for everyone, and you certainly not get it until its public release.

So yes, the best choice to have MorphOS running today is a Pegasos.

Ah, Plaz, i know JUST how you feel!
I'm new to this whole thing too!
what convinced me was seeing a Pegasos in action. I was at Amiwest this summer and just a few weeks ago at the 1st P.U.G. meeting (Pegasos User Group in New York). seeing the system working will make a believer out of you, also!
check the news on these sites for shows near your area.
I'm looking forward to geting my Pegasos!

I concur with Cecilia, to just listen to the talk about Pegasos with MorphOS, one could easily pass it off as a pipe dream of sorts. Finding someone, a show, or a user group with one running--changes that perspective.

I've seen it time and time again. In a way, it's much like having that first A1000 years ago... I highly suggest finding a user-group, show, or a Pegasos owner. Seeing is believing!

*grin* call me cynical/elitest or whatever but I
don't think people should be concerned with
trying to convince anyone about the potential
of the Pegasus, As one member pointed out it
was just like it was in the beginning in 1986

Sometimes it takes ages for some people to take
that step and even after they do they are
    continuiously questioning this that and
basically very annoying... I think we can live
    without these types exclusing genuine
curiousity... I think you all know what I
    am talking about...

Personally even if the Pegasus doesn't really
go anywhere, I am still going to buy it... Since
the specs it has now we do exactly what I want
it to do till the day I die... hell, all my
    Amiga's still do this...

anyway, that's about it... I do not mean it to
sound so negative it's not... I love to see
this going forward and constructive not
burdened with practicality... I've had too
much experience on a personal level of faith
    losing out to practicality...

If you are one of these people that don't make
a move without a written contract of performance
then I suggest you come back to this forum
    in say 2 years time...

    adios! :)

*laugh* I just re-read this, talk about
overkill... nevermind, at least it'll be
    mildly entertaining ,)

Slayer: i wouldn't say you are "cynical". my point was that, like the amiga back in the late 1980's, the Pegasos will sell itself.
all anyone has to do is SEE it.
no one has to apply any sort of hard sell.

any i am VERY tight with my money. but when i see a good reason to spend it, i do it!

my amiga has more than paid for itself. it has helped me have a career and learn things i never would have had a chance to as easily or inexpensively.

it seems to me the Pegasos is simply an amiga updated to better hardware. so, it's got my vote!

Some people ain't me Slayer. I don't respond to " convicin' ". Just show me the data and facts man, and I'll make the best choice with my limited spending funds. So far I like what I see. Besides you spelled "Pegasus" wrong. I'm supposed to be the newbie around here eh? :-D

And Downix... I'm in Atlanta. That Orlando show might be do-able. I havn't seen a posting for that show. Tell me more or send me an email with the dates and specifics. Thanks to all who've replied so far.

hey! I never called you a newbie ,)

And yes, I spelt Pegasos wrong! I'm quite
the newbie myself concerning the present
hardware and events... I've been too busy
flying around the damn world because of
    this damn internet :P

Now I've settled in home country again I'm
    just catching up...

and I just edited out the rest of this post
because this isn't a talk back show it's an
    offical MorphOS information site ,)

    adios!
