    My Quicksilver won't power up.
I removed a sonnet accelerator from it and put the original cpu(s) back in and it worked for a while but now it wont.
Sonnet had me upgrade the rom so is there anyone out there with a Quicksilver who can use a mac rom ripper and email me a working rom for this machine? I've got to get this thing reburned.
As far as the power I think there is a circuit breaker on the power supply and that might be the issue.

    :-?

you can remove the patch in the Open Firmware (installed with the Sonnet card) using the original Apple CPU card.
you don't need a working Sonnet card to remove the patch in the Open Firmware installed with the Sonnet card.
If you have """problems""" with original Apple CPU card and Sonnet CPU card, probably your mainboard has problems

I have a PC power supply tester.
It shows the apple power supply as faulty.
However, the apple power supply has two extra connectrs beyond the normal atx. my tester supports up to 4 pins extra beyond atx.
Will my PC tester give a correct reading?
There is power coming from the power supply most defintely.

December is what we've been told in BadBramsted (where I got sold out on PBs *g*).

Just snapped a WLAN-PCMCIA-card of ebay (10Euro including shipping) which should work with Mr Cafferkey's (sp?) driver.

    Yep, I'm ready !!

Well someone at the Bad Bramstedt Meeting had such a card on his A1200, and I asked him wether that one would work with WPA. He replied "yes if get the 'gold' edition" searched for that on ebay and snapped it at 6.60+shipping.

Will post details when it arrives, maybe make a testrun on my A1200 (assuming there is a test version of that driver).

Please provide an ebay link for a similar card so I can see what to buy.
Also, what model # powerbook is the absolute best to get? I want a 17" one.
BTW: got youtube to finally work with OWB. The latest copy made it easy.
    Thanks.
    :-o

P.S. Don't EVER plug a mac PS into a PC PS tester!

Wow mom, look at the pretty sparks flying everywhere.

Very cool. Now we will have laptop support. I guess its time to start looking.

I assume that also means we will be getting R300 3D support?

My question on this matter from one month ago went unanswered, unfortunately.

Apparently my repetition of that inquiry is also going to go unanswered.
But if Powerbook support includes support for 3D acceleration and that line uses a Mobility 9700 GPU, then doesn't that indicate R300 3D support?

Or is Powerbook support initially going to forgo 3D support?

It does, except when PowerBook support does not include support for 3D acceleration ;-)

    > Or is Powerbook support initially going to forgo 3D support?

That's the question exactly. I guess we will know the answer no later than the MorphOS 3.0 release :-)

Is that the next release (forgoing a 2.8 release)?

Eventually, some MorphOS Team member stooped to answer your inquiry from another site:

This seems to be confirmed now:

    "3D Driver R300 (Radeon 9700 for PowerBook)."

According to Fab and opposed to what itix claimed, MorphOS 3.0 will *not* come with 3D support for R300.
