    Hello Community,

I would like to develop websites and my browsergame with MorphOS. Is this possible?!

for the work I need the following programs:
    1. HTML Editor: for PHP, HTML, JS. A alternative to Dreamweaver would be nice *g* (Code and WYSIWYG)
    2. A Graphics program with layer for design and edit pictures for the web.
    3. PHP and MYSQL (Mamp or Xampp?!)

Sorry, I'm a new morphOS User.

I would be happy about answers :-)

    Best regards
    Aramon

Not much on that side. I guess that GoldEd Studio have a php/html syntax highlight at least. No WYSIWYG for sure. Anyway, reloading the page and you're done.

Look at classic apps like FxPaint or TVPaint for example.
Latest apps on the matter are : Gribouillis 2 from Yomgui, Paint from Stefkos (still early beta), maybe Sketch also from Stefkos (streamlined version of paint).

Best bet is TVPaint imo. Still no photoshop killer on sight ;)

I don't remember seeing any port of those lately. If there is any, they are outdated and certainly obsolete by now.

MorphOS isn't really suitable if you aim to run everything (edit/gfx/http/php/mysql) on the same computer imo.

Still, if you can setup some smbfs drive and edit file directly from a LAMP computer, it should give pretty good results.

In fact I do some webdesign or rather webprogramming on MorphOS. I'm not a graphican so I usually only process graphics prepared by others. Latest example of my webcoding work is morphos.pl site. I guess you will find my way of work a bit unusual.

I do not use a local MySQL and PHP. I work remotely on a webhosting server via SSH (terminal) connection using SSHCon. This way I get Unicode support for free (SSHCon supports Unicode). Another advantage is no need for uploading edited files. For graphics processing I use TVPaint and ShowGirls. For example shadows for news images on morphos.pl are done in ShowGirls exclusively. Note, that as mentioned above, I only process graphics, not design it.

For observing the results of my work (and also working with server admin panel or phpmyadmin) I have OWB. Its compatibility with current mainstream browsers is excellent (which is not surprising as it uses current WebKit engine).

    Hello,

thank you for your answer. Usually I work with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, InDesign etc.) on a mac.
Too bad that there are no alternative programs for MorphOS. I need a local PHP&MYSQL version for develop the Browsergame.

I have seen on the website http://www.kanzelsberger.com/pixel/?page_id=9 a grafic program. It looks like photoshop, very interesting and very cheap.
Has anyone tested the program “Pixel image editor”?

On MorphOS 1.x this program ran quite unstable:

    https://morph.zone/modules/newbb_plus/viewtopic.php?topic_id=5479&forum=9

...but on MorphOS 2.x it is said to run much better by some:

    ...but not by others:

    Welcome!

    1. Check out MetalWeb. It's very old but you may like it. MorphEd+OWB would be a good compromise and with WebInspector it may be quite useful
    2. TVPaint (sadly it only allows 2 layers), ArtEffect, Photogenics.
    3. There are Apache+php+mysql servers out there. SixK ported various IIRC.

    Thank you Crumb. :-)

I have found MetalWeb yesterday in the aminet-archive. For edit images, I will
    try Pixel image editor.

And for PHP and MYSQL I will try:
    http://aminet.net/package/comm/www/apache_1.3.41_php_mos
    http://aminet.net/package/dev/misc/MySqld-v

    I hope it works.

But first I must wait for my Mac Mini

MetalWeb seems to be the only visual editor, if you really know HTML you can use CED
    or any advanced text editor.

    For gfx ArtEffect and Photogenics.

    For buttons CandyFactory Pro

ImageFX I have never used, but people have high opinion of it.

Sadly, all these are 68k. This kind of software should get some serious priority,
maybe porting Amaya from Linux or similar? Jah Shaka and Audacity and voila MOS could
    be multimedia wise :-)

MorphOS comes nowadays with text editor called Scribble. It has syntax highlighting and couple other features for HTML too.

I'd recommend ShowGirls (included in MorphOS) and ArtEffect for effects editing and converting, but then also PPaint for pixeling of small details. PPaint is fine for creating GIF anims too.

FXPaint2 has nice HTML gallery creation option, it comes with many predefined themes and you can create own themes too. It has some bugs, but you'll learn to avoid the crashes :)
