Hi there... I'm running MorphOS 2.7 connected via ethernet to my DSL router, although I have set my hostname in the Host and DNS tab of the network prefs, the DSL router still does not get the machine's hostname... this works ok in.. ahem.. OS4.1... I'm not sure what's wrong or.. maybe I'm expecting something I shouldn't? How can I tell MorphOS to send the machine's hostname to the router?

Any help will be very appreciated.

    Cheers,

Systems don't normally send their hostname in communications unless the protocol, e.g. DHCP, uses the hostname. Are you expecting to see your system's hostname in your router's DHCP client table, or is there another feature you believe isn't working correctly? In DHCP, the client identifier (61) or host name (12) options may contain the hostname. Neither option is mandatory, and the client identifier typically contains the hardware address, e.g. a six byte Ethernet MAC address, and not the hostname.
