Charge and play solves all those problems :)

yeah got that. i just told that wireless charging with usb while playing = wired controller, so no pro for wireless only cons:) means only using wired controller solves all problems:)

Actually, all games will now work with the xbox controller - due to the lowlevel.library emulation that was added in MorphOS 3.6.

    Thanks!

    @jacadcaps

Hmm, I only tried Battle Squadron and while I can use the controller in the menu it doesn't work at all in the game. Maybe it's the game though. I will try it with Speed Dreams.

Just tried to plug in my XBOX 360 wired controller, but Trident will just give a "?" in "Devices".

Seems that not all 360 controllers are supported...

Is the xbox360.class loaded? What's the PID/VID of the device?

Well, you need to Dir Scan in USB/Classes then. The pad is supported.

Which is exactly why it didn't work. The class isn't enabled in the default configuration.

Hard to say why it doesn't work. Did you connect it via a USB cable?

I can prepare a debug version of the xbox360 class and we can try to debug this...

You can use something like https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32995704386.html to connect it via USB... That's why I wanted to make sure.

I have been given one of the below for Christmas and however hard I try I cannot get it to work under MorphOS.

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Etpark-Controller-Joystick-Improved-Ergonomic-black/dp/B07Q4SD1NB/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=xbox+360+controller&qid=1608931870&sr=8-10

    Product ID: 654 (=0x028E)
    Product version: 0110
    Vendor: 1118 (=0x04SE)
    Manufacturer: Microsoft

Once I do a DirScan the controller stops flashing and appears to settle down but I cannot get it to register any movement in any game I try.

Do I need to go for an Official Microsoft or am I missing something?

    Any help much appreciated.

Try https://tunkki.dk/~jaca/waitandhid to confirm whether it's working or not. It could be that it needs some additional setup step which the MorphOS driver does not perform.

I am using an "Xbox Controller + Cable for Windows":

    Product ID: 746 (=0x02EA)
    Product version: 0301
    Manufacturer: Microsoft
    Vendor: 1118 (=0x045E)

This is a cheap-ish controller and is connected directly using the provided USB cable. It is detected as "Controller" in Trident (using xbox360.class), but pressing "Settings" does nothing. I also can't seem to get it to work with anything (although I'm 99% sure it did work in a previous MorphOS version - using 3.14 now), but "waitandhid" does detect it properly (all buttons work, etc). So, my questions are:

    1. Should pressing "Settings" on the device open up the settings page?
    2. Should lowlevel.library software work with this driver?

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks jacadcaps, that little app was really useful.

All the entries appear to register fine, apart from the right shoulder button that shows permanently as active (i.e. registers as 1).

I subsequently tried the controller under Windows and WinUAE (its the only games I have on my Windows laptop) and the right shoulder button isn't registering under WinUAE either and definitely wasn't working in Gloom or WormsDC.

Would this potentially be the reason why it is not working at all under MorphOS? Obviously it doesn't work correctly, but not sure if to order another or try something completely different.
