Does anybody know if itix is still working on SDL?
His home page lehtoranta.net has vanished and he doesn't reply to emails.

I'm interested in SDL_sound with modplug plugin. I downloaded the source from Aminet and it seems that modplug is not supported. Any chance this will change?

We were just yesterday discussing one (OpenGL-related) update on irc, so I guess he is still working on it. Have you tried joining #morphos on freenode to see if he's there?

Itix have corrected few problems in powerSDL yesterday.
He should release a new version soon.

My primamy email account is ilkleht@yahoo.com these days ;-)

I can look into it but we probably need modplug.library first... I'll look if I can craft something.

That would be great! Thanks in advance.

(Although I don't like pre-announcements at all, probably everybody knows that I will start working on "Giana's Return" soon and modplug seems like a requirement ;-)

    @phx

Did you already port Giana's Return? ;-) Since I already ported modplug.library but I dont have test bench :-)

    Work:L?hdekoodit/(...)/libs/modplug/MorphOS> list modplug.library
    modplug.library 383572 ----rw-d T?n??n 01:07:54

Oh, btw, libmodplug exports C interface but internally everything is written in C++...

No. I won't get the source before the next release. They are currently migrating from SDL_mixer/mikmod to SDL_sound/modplug for playing XM mods.

I didn't expect that so fast!

Yes... that's the reason I could not port it with vbcc... :-P

In my opinion, the external API is much more important, the internal code can often be any kind of mess -even C++- as long as I don't have to touch it :-D

Probably it's used for less fragile binary compatibility.

Is it you working on the MorphOS port? I ask because there hasn't been a release meanwhile.

I have just received the source text this weekend.
Making it compile and work was a matter of 2 - 3 hours. But fine tuning and performance improvements will take some days, or even weeks.
Although I started with the MorphOS port, because of the clean SDL situation, I won't release anything before the OS4 port is finished. ;-)

    Two weeks. Excellent. Thanks :-)

And as if that wouldn't be enough:

    Thanks again :-)

What's that "Experimental OGL support" in Giana's readme file? OpenGL instead of SDL?

SDL with OpenGL. But it is Windows-only at the moment. I have to check if it makes any sense for the Amiga ports.

Sadly, both two games' display suffers from a lack of VBL synchro.

    I guess that's a bug in PowerSDL?
The game is using SDL_Flip() to switch buffers, which should also wait for vertical retrace, according to its man-page.
