Hello everyone, I recently aquired a mac mini g4 and i am
trying to install morphos 2.4 on it.

Well , I found a tutorial on the net so here is what I did.
I used the OSX 10.3.7 installation cd and created 3 partitions,
    1 is 60mb 2nd for morphos and 3rd for MacosX.Then I installed MacOsx
in the 3rd partition and after that I booted with Morphos 2.4 iso cd.
I choosed manual partitioning and I opened the mounter tool where I named the 60mb partition Boot and choosed MAC HFS! , that is what the tutorial says , but everytime I try to format the partition I get an
initialization failed.I name the other partiotion System but when I press next for the installation to start I get error.I think its because of the boot partition.
Perhaps I should install Morphos and then MacOSX;Is there something in the installation I am missing?

Actually you're not supposed to name the partition 'Boot' in mounter. It has to be called Boot in the Ambient Format window after you mount it. Perhaps you should carefully read the guide again.

don't choose the MAC HFS! just plain HFS.

Yup that was the problem..In the turorial I downloaded from the net
    http://dreamolers.binaryriot.org/dualboot.pdf
it said mount the partion with MAC HFS!.
But the exclamation mark was just to emphasize the file system..
So , every time I tried to format a MAC HFS! partition it couldn't be
initialized. It just wanted a MAC HFS partition to continue the installation.
    Pretty stupid eh?

    Thanks guys.

What's "MAC HFS!"? How does it differ from MAC HFS+?

Excuse me? Neither the artice about HFS nor the one about HFS+ answers my question about the "MAC HFS!" dkaram keeps mentioning. I know both HFS and HFS+, so I concluded that "MAC HFS!" must be something else. I don't think he meant to say "MAC HFS" by "MAC HFS!".

There is no such thing as MAC HFS! mentioned anywhere in the guide. For some reason dkaram didn't notice the () around the exclamation mark. None of the screenshots have MAC HFS! so I don't really get why would anyone be confused about this.
