Anyone else notice this happening? The first time I was streaming an online radio station through mplayer, owb in the background. Second time I had ctorrent going on a d/l, I was watching a video on mplayer and paused it. Few hours later, I noticed the same thing it locked up. I also had a 250gig usb drive and a 150gig usb attached. I don't think it's the mini because i've ran that more than 24hrs before.

Had one freeze when I'd left amirc on.
I hadn't put the reg key in though so don't know if that had something to do with it.
I came back to the machine after a while and the please reg message came up.
Cant remember if trying to get rid of it locked it up or if it was already.

No other freezes apart from that.
I will try running the same proggys as you later and see what happens.

Nope, I've found MorphOS on the Macmini to be more stable than on the Peg 2 (possibly due to a buggy board I had) and on the Efika.

I also have this freezing on a peg2.
Don't know what is causing it maybe tcp stack somehow?
It happened on me with owb but also with yam.
    Freezes fully no reset possible..

I've had a few freeze's, but attributed them to buggy third party apps or games, not the OS. I have not tried to duplicate them to find out what was the cause.

I listen to a radio stream with MPlayer (v1.0 svn r28114 from Dec 2008(just copied it over from m Peg)) daily for hours (my connection to home) and it never led to a lock up.

It could be, that ctorrent is a bit unstable.

For the past 7 days or so I have been leaving OWB open with ANR steaming jungletrain.net for about 8 hours a day and no problems. Been quite stable for me.....

As follow up to my statement about freezes of my system, when I first got home from AmiWest with my MacMini G4 running MorphOS2.4, I turned it on and left it running for 3 days and nights continuously without any lock-ups or freezing, but I was not using it much during that time, so it was just idling away the hours not running any third party software.

It is now 06:00 am est and I'm using owb to post, so probably an isolated incident. 13hrs is as good a test for now. I'll consider the issue closed, unless it occurs again.

Not sure if this is related, but MorphOS will lock up here at random when copying files to a external USB hd. Took less then 30 minutes when using 2.3 (continuous copying), took 1 1/2 hour with 2.4. Seems to be a prob with this specific hd and/or the USB drivers (works fine on windows and tried multiple filesystems, all failed in the same way).

    edit: on a Pegasos2/G4

yea I noticed that yesterday too. Uumm, mine freed itself up and said can't copy file(mp3) then proceeded to drop the device. I was going to try individually copying, or even a shell copy to see. I'll try this later maybe.

what's the command y'all? help me out.

    copy <device/file> to <device> #?

Udate copying individually seemed ok, then I got to a jpg, and it snagged again, and dropped. Re-inserted the device and continued copying other mp3 files, then it snagged on another file, and locked the mouse. I had to reboot because re-inserting the mouse didn't free it up. After r-booting, the initial two files which had problems, crossed without issue.
    Possible bug ?

I also had system freezes:(, i thought i get rid of this MLDonkey 3.0.0 problem earlier but no luck:(
I have MLDonkey running on 2 registered Mac minis.
    The system randomly freezes.
Sometimes the Network dies, and it seems running out of buffers, mbufs.
This only happens on the Mac minis, My registered PegII running MorphOS 2.4 and MLDonkey dont have this problem at all.
The configurations are the same on Mac mini and PegII

I seem to have similar problems with mldonkey. Had a few strange lockups last night. Left it running over night. Looked at it this morning and the system had frozen with ~1h 30m on uptime sbar. Seems to be running better today - Just got 3h uptime come up.

Regarding MLDonkey crashing due to mbufs, try editting SYS:Prefs/Env-Archive/sys/net/Netstack.config and change

    MBUF_CONF MAXMEM=4096

    to

    MBUF_CONF MAXMEM=8192

    Works for me (tm)

    @Stevo
Thanx, but the strange part is that on my PegII its enough with 4096.
Are you using Mac mini with MLDonkey or Pegasos?
On my PegII its ok with MBUF_CONF MAXMEM=4096 and "max_opened_connections = 156" in MLDonkey downloads.ini, but on my Mac mini i must lower this to max_opened_connections = 50 or else i will run out of buffers.
This is strange and indicates that maybe there is some difference between sungem_eth.device and mv6436x_eth.device.
I have tried the MBUF_CONF MAXMEM=8192 and it helps with mbufs problem but not with the mysterious system freeze, and i have tried changed the loop_delay variable but no luck:(

I have Yam 2.5 freezing on me.
It takes a while but then it starts slowing down to a near halt and only rebooring seems to work.
