not sure about that xyphoid, own a pegasos 2..

but need some help here, trying to run heretic 2 and have some questions.

lets start at beginning, when installing the game, should i choose yes to config warp3d ?
if yes what should i choose on these setrtings? i havent configed the file.

when trying to icon, exe file. snoopdos tells me it needs wizard.library? does it need it?
the window comes and i can choose my settings.
in the "Game" section i choose my device, unit and choose use mouse. i leave addon and options blank.
in the "Display" section i choose use Triple-Buffering and use RTGMaster everything else is grey.
in the "Paths" section i choose nothing, i quess this is "standard setup" =)
when i choose "start game" the screen goes to new screen thats grey and nothing happens..

    any clues whats the problem?

Yup, Heretic II works just fine on my Efika.

@XzIt - Try copying wizard.library to libs: - I remember I did. Not quite sure if that did the trick though.

Where can I find more info about installing Heretic II on my Efika and MacMini?

Also, what are the chances of getting Descent 2 ported to MorphOS now that it has been ported to AmigaOS4.x?

I think it's there for a while already.

But MorphOS port has been in existence for some years longer.

Sorry about the thread Necrophilia, but what do you need to play Heretic 2 on MorphOS, the amiga release?
    eg.

Yes, at least I'm not aware of any open source reimplementation of this game. http://www.osgameclones.com doesn't list one either.

Thinking of buying this game, as it seems to run on MorphOS according to a few MorphOS users who have posted to this thread.

Anyone care to comment on the game? A short review of the game play, how it runs, how the graphics look?

Are there any extra files or libraries that need to be installed first for this game to run correctly on MorphOS2.7?

If anyone has this game and no longer wants it as they have played it a few times already and it no longer interests them, I would not be opposed to buying it used from anyone that no longer wants their complete package of this game.

I am also open to suggestions for other games to run on MorphOS2.7. Preferably without needing E-UAE to run. I am not much of a gamer at all, but thought I would check out this game and any others that run on MorphOS and are recommended by other members here on MZ.org.

I don't currently own a USB joystick or joypad, but I think I do have a USB to 9pin adapter, so I can use any of my Amiga joysticks in a USB port, but I don't remember how well the response time is when using this adapter, or if it is difficult to assign games to use this USB to 9pin adapter and Amiga joystick, while running MorphOS2.7.

Time to resurrect the Heretic II thread.. again :-) I installed the game on my Mac Mini a few days ago. It runs well, but there are a few minor issues.
I get no texture filtering, except for the skybox, the console background and some sprites.
There's no music. Is there any way to get the CD audio working on MorphOS? :-?

Copy the cd to one of your partitions and make an assign to it in your user-startup
    Code:
    assign Heretic_IIB: DH2:Heretic_IIB

Using pc files on amiga version didn't work?. I'm wondering, because if you have it on pc, it's a pity you have to bought it again. Doesn't use the same estructure on levels like quake, when you put your own levels from the pc version, then run the Amiga executable?.

Umm, I think you have misunderstood me a bit. I wasn't talking about playing the game without the CD in the drive.
I miss the CDDA music playback. The game used cybppc.device to access the CD on classic amigas, for playing the CD audio music. I'm interested if there's any replacement for it on MorphOS.

The Heretic II Amiga executable isn't free, so you have to buy the Hyperion version including data files anyway.

same question, is there a way to use the CD audio music tracks ?
(Pegasos 2 with DVD and analogic audio cable connected to the mainboard)
(using ide.device and ID of the DVD is 3)
(CD audio music tracks are ok if played with Ambient_SoundPlayer)

other question: to see video movies, do I need to create a new video mode 320x200x8bit ?

solved: created a new 320x240x8bit mode

Is It possible to add a SoundBlaster Live PCI card or SoundBlaster 128 PCI card in PowerMac G5 to use correctly the mixer IN CD-ROM ?
SoundBlaster Live PCI card is 3.3V while SoundBlaster 128 PCI card is 5V

PowerMac G5 PCI(-X) is 3.3V, so 5V-only cards won't fit/work. There has been a thread on the topic of SoundBlaster Live on G5, but no replies so far:

added a SoundBlaster Live PCI in PowerMac G5 and works very well, same as the CDROM audio in AUX IN of the SoundBlaster Live PCI, all fine
Mixer is OK to control it

added at the end a RV280 128mb flashed from PC in the PowerMac G5 and Goa reimplementation of the Warp3D.library is OK
edited all gfx modes from panel, all fine

    regards
