Tried to install latest version of Scalos today, problem is that it fails at 75% of the install with the message that it can't allocate a file or drawer..it stops at a file called "menu13.prefs" in env-archive

Have tried with both Installer 43.3 and the installer from OS3.9 (Boingbag 2)

Can someone please help me do this the right way?

    Hi,

to help me locate the problem, here are a few questions:

    - has "menu13.prefs" actually been copied by installer? Or is this the first file that fails?
    - has the directory "ENVARC:Scalos/" been created?

    Regards,
    J?rgen

Yes, Env-archive/Scalos is created but no menu13.prefs in there :-?

    Installer says:

    COPYFILES: Problem with source file/drawer
    "env-archive/scalos.MOS/Menu13.prefs" in line 275.

DOS Error Type: Unable to locate a file or drawer

Problem solved, had to move all the stuff from the "English" folder inside env-archive/scalos.MOS to env-archive/scalos.MOs for the instaler to find and opy the files

Now Scalos is running perfect ;) just need some MUI classes now

    Hello Amigaz,

I think there's a problem from one of copy procedures.
What was the mode you used with the installer script(NOVICE or EXPERT), please?
I have to check several modes here and to simulate a MOS env: & envarc: on my 68k machine, :hammer: before to start the debug insaller mode.

    Regards,

How is the speed of Scalos compared to Ambient (non-debug)? Any difference?

Speedwise it was the same, not using Scalos at the monent since I couldn't change fonts or text colours for some unknown reason..I'm back to Ambient now
Gonna create a special partition dedicated for MOS/Scalos instead
