Questions that should be added to a FAQ:
    1. What do I need to setup an LAN/Internet-Connection?
    2. What files from an older AOS-Installation should I use?
    3. What 3rd-Party-files are needed to work with MOS?
4.How can I make Classact work with MOS?

    Hi!

How to set turboprint up so that it works (everything asks for PRT: ) would be good!

Im using a EpsonC40 usb printer with turboprint 7.40 and it was a headache setting it up anyway as the floppy install (copyed to 4k hd then ftp'd across) didnt make a runable turboprefs program so I had to faff around with that, and then when I tried to print from graphicspublisher it took forever to do 1cm and that came out all ghostlike and only in turquoise!!! hmmmm.

    Cheers!

    Hmm...
    How about this...

"How to check, if file is MOS native, 68k, WUP, PUP or what?"

First check with a HEX Editor... if first bytes say "ELF" then it's not a 68k executable.

Then u can grep for __abox__ or __amigappc__. If u find one of these strings then it's a MOS executable and not a PUP ELF. This maybe not works for libraries. Thanks to CISC for this information. :)

We've just updated the FAQ a bit. It does not cover all questions yet and may contains some errors, but maybe it contains some helpful stuff for newbies. :)

Oh yeah! Make sure the "How do I get ARexx working" bit gets updated!

Hey, are we still wanting to do that new faq engine?

    Tokai: Cool!

Here's something I think should be added....

    Q. When I click on a PDF in my browser, all I see is a garbled mess. Why?

    A. You have not configured your mime-types to handle PDF documents. Simply create a new entry into the MIME-type tables for Application/pdf covering the extension pdf. Then supply the path to the included APDF packaged with MorphOS. Finally, make sure that the MIME-prefs has %f in the arguements field, or after the text My:Path/to/APDF.

    Example:

    Application/pdf pdf
    SYS:Apps/APDF/APDF %f

    concerning morphOS filesystems

A> how do I address my 130GB drive in 3 or less partitions?

B> can any morphOS filesystem read a contiguous file of 2GBytes or greater ?

C> is there a way to do both A & B (which is my true need)
.....or do I stay with Linux and its associated filesystems instead?
I am ; therefore you are

    answer to A:

partitioon size limit of SFS (SmartFileSystem) is about 2000 GB, and can be more depending on the blocksize.

    answer to B:

afaik this limit has nothing to do with the filesystem but with the DOS... but I can be wrong here. SFS documentation says limit is slighly less than 2GB. Sadly I don't have the documentation for the old commercial PFS filesystem here... but as far as i can remeber the limit was here 2GB too.

answer to C: look to A and B. And I ask u: Why not install both systems (MorphOS and Linux)? :-)

    regards,
    tokai

I have something to add. :)

    Question:
Why doesn't FX Scan Lite work even though
I have a supported Epson model USB scanner?

    Answer:
You need to create a text file in your
    "s:" directory called "epson.conf". Inside
this file type on one line "usb EPSON".

That seems to tell FX ScanLite to use USB
instead of SCSI to access the scanner.

    MorphOS 1.4?
