Silly I know, but this has been bugging me :-P How is Pegasos supposed to be pronounced?

    PegasUS (like the mythical horse)
Pegas-O-S (with the O and S pronounced as individual letters)
    PegasOS (like "lost")
    Pegasose (like "hose")

Who knows, pronounce it whichever way you like or what makes sense in your native tongue...

..this one doesn't make sense though, it's a motherboard, not an operating system...

I agree about that, but it's the only reason I can think why it's spelt with "os" at the end.

The logo on Genesi's home page on www.pegasosppc.com is a winged horse, so I guess it's pronounced Pegasus like the mythical horse.

It's probably spelt like it is because the mythical horse Pegasus is spelt Pegasos in German for some reason (Germans don't like US?). :-)

Pegasus is the latin form of the greek woord 'pegasos'.
The old bard Homer is in Latin 'Homerus" and in the original greek form "Homeros".
So the original name of the winged horse is 'Pegasos'

    Regards, Tom

The Romans "stole" surprisingly many elements from the Greek mythology.

Pey-gah-soze or Pey-ga-soz the last two, if you want to respect the German engineers :)

However I have to say I pronounce it Peggersoss because I am from a lousy place in the UK.

    It's definitely not Pegasus.

    Hi Matt

The first three sound silly to me in a British tongue (I'm from England too). So I'll continue to say Pegasus, but with the utmost respect to the German engineers

    Try gurkings version: GINVARS_GOS_ST.mp3
The lyrics are in swedish but I think you'll figure out when he says "Pegasos"

Quite same pronounciation as polish. Whenever I pronounce Pegasos I allways try to lay the stress to "o".
In the 90's here was the very popular and known nintendo tv game set in Poland widely known under "Pegasus" additional trademark.
Because of that it allways makes people here think of that game set hearing the word "Pegasos", even if I carefuly lay the stress to "o". Then I have to explain this is not that gamebox with "Contra" and "Mario Bros" :-)

Call it nit-picking but the USAians can't even spell English words correctly never mind Greek, Latin or German words! ;)
