On sunday i've desided to rest a bit from ieee1394 and switched to MOSNet. I haven't touched it for a while, it's time to do something there...
Well, what's done (this took one whole day):
    1. miami.library is not disk-based anymore, it's integrated into the kernel, the same as bsdsocket.library. All private bsdsocket.library calls are removed. Now MOSNet is AROS-ready :-)
    2. usergroup.library is now a part of the main archive and is significantly reworked. credential.resource removed, now it correctly stores per-process credentials. Server applications ported from UNIX should feel better now.
This is what i'm going to do for 1.3 release:
    3. Address passwd file reading problem (some of you reported that it adds some strange username to end of the list, i've lost that report, please re-post it and attach an exact copy of your passwd file).
    4. Address spontaneous stopping transfers during downloading large files (please, re-clarify what client is used and what's the file size).
    5. Address non-working smbfs problem.
    6. More miami.library functions working.
    7. Native, problem-less inetd.

Want to add/remove something to this list?

    - a clear and comprehensive GUI to set up MOSnet instead of text files to edit.

but i guess it's not part of your project.

    hi there,

perhaps stupid question... but how is it with ssl support? i'd love to access ssl coded pages, but i haven't ever made it working with miami, and now... i'm not sure, if actual mosnet 1.2 supports it...

    thanks for the information, MarK.

A GUI that allows you to change the sana-II driver, DHCP/Static IP settings. Maybe some checkbox to allow MosNet to warn you. Something simple like the TCP/IP settings of WinXP or Ubuntu. No need for hundreds of options as most of people use network card.

Use AmiSSL. MiamiSSL will never be reimplemented since AmiSSL has become a standard and works with all stacks. As a result more programs support it, and there's no software which supports MiamiSSL and doesn't support AmiSSL.
Yes, AmiSSL is not native and the author won't share the source code for porting to MorphOS. It can be only rewritten from scratch. It's another task which has nothing to do with TCP stack.

I get this with Ibrowse 2.3 when browsing through sites with lots of graphics and especially with ATC and files > 100mb, have not notised anything with files under 500kb.

Sonic, sounds good so far. I agree that we need a basic GUI that will allow for a simple standard setup using it. It would be fine to have in the 1.4 release, what you have done so far is great. I am looking forward to testing it out.

Thanks, i think i can reproduce it with FTP transfer. I even guess what happens, looks like SANA-II requests pool gets exhausted. Probably new TCP/IP layer overperforms SANA-II layer. :-)
BTW, do you remember if you got the same problem with <=1.0 ?

    Hi Sonic,

I still would like to have the possibility to use e. g. SpamFryer or anything else with YAM to get the spam's filtered. Perhaps something can be done :))

    Regards

This did never happen with 1.0 or earlier.

Perhaps that something should be done somewhere else than in TCP/IP? :-)

No, he is right here. The actual problem is that SpamFryer uses TCP: handler in order to connect to the server. This handler is not ported yet.
There's another problem with it: such a thing is a serious potential security hole.

You probably write about my problems. I have tryed to send
you an e-mail since a few days. But unfortunately your
mailbox is bouncing my e-mails (quota exceeded problem)
    - I use address from MOSNet documentation.

On the other handm such a thing as "Amiga compatible operating system" is a serious potential security hole in itself...
